Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 289

The community director of Oakridge Springs watched the police officer tell his story, then turned to Chad: "Officer Chad, your squad really knows how to spin a tale. Of all the cops that have come here, your team is the best at rounding up these old-timers. When the firefighters came, we started with 50 elderly folks, but by the end, there were only 10 left. But look at your event, the place is still packed."

Chad chuckled, "We had the same issue in the beginning. Once, I took my little sister to one of our lectures. When we got home, she said to me, 'I didn't understand a word you guys were saying. What's illegal fundraising? What does it include? What does embezzlement even mean? Are you saying someone stole my job? If I can't understand it, those old folks definitely can't either. Can't you tell us stories to help us understand?'

"Too much jargon feels like we're just putting on a show for the higher-ups. After that, I changed my approach and started telling stories to these old folks using real-life cases to make them aware of scams. The feedback has been great, even kids love to come listen, and there's interaction, which means they're really listening. That's the result I wanted."

The community director praised, "Officer Chad, you’re a real catch. I never thought your sister would be such a great advisor."

"Yeah, she accidentally gave me a big hand." Chad's face lit up with pride when he mentioned Molly.

The officer continued his lecture, "Now we all know about these scammers and their tricks. Don't believe anything that sounds too good to be true. If you ever encounter these scammers, steer clear of them. And what else should you do?"

The residents of Oakridge Springs shouted in unison: "Call the police, and catch the scammer."

"Right, give yourselves a round of applause. You're all very enlightened."

Everyone applauded.

The lecture finished and the officer went to get a drink of water. Chad stepped up to the mic. He summarized, "Firstly, thank you all for braving the cold to join us for this hour. I'm sure after hearing all these cases, you have a better understanding of economic fraud. The goal of the police is to protect the wealth and happiness of the people, and we need your active cooperation. Whether it's telephone fraud or ransom payments, you must all remember to communicate with your young ones at home. No matter what the scammer says, we must always say: No."

Chad knew it was cold, so he kept it brief. Finally, he said, "If you have any questions, feel free to ask us. We will post our contact information at the community gate. If anyone needs help, just give us a call."

Molly had been there for a while, standing outside the playground, not wanting to disturb. She watched Chad with pride.

"Officer Chad, do you have a girlfriend? Are you married?"

"Yeah, Officer Chad, you're so talented and handsome. Do you have a wife at home? If not, I can introduce you to my granddaughter. She's 24 and very pretty."

"Yeah, she's very pretty. Officer Chad, when will you be back? I can ask my family to meet you."

"I also have a suitable girl at home. Officer Chad, I can bring her to meet you."

Chad was helpless.

The community leader couldn't stop laughing. The Q&A session had turned into a matchmaking event, with everyone trying to introduce their daughters to Chad. If his own daughter was older, he would do the same. After all, Chad was intelligent, upright, ambitious, and handsome. Plus, he came from a good family.

Molly noticed Chad was being cornered. She quickly appeared and revealed her position. She pushed through the crowd and stood in front of Chad.

Chad saw her, "Why are you here?"

"To see you."

"Who's this girl? Is she your girlfriend?"
