After zipping up, Coleen went to her room to fetch the jewels she had bought in advance for her daughter. However, as soon as she stepped out the door, Molly, the naive teenage girl attending her first party, thought her outfit was ready. She walked barefoot, eager to show Chad her dress and let him see if she look beautiful.
“Girls in dresses,” Mia said, “are like stars in the eyes of their lovers.”
Molly, still barefoot, descended the stairs without even picking up her dress. “Do I look good?” Molly smiled and called out to the man who had his back to her in the living room.
Hearing her voice, Chad turned his head, lifted his eyes, and saw the elf-like girl on the stairs in her pink dress.
Under the glow of the dress, she looked like a delicate princess. Soft but not too flashy, rich but not exaggerated. Chad didn't know what words to use to describe the girl before him.
Her face was bare of makeup, but to Chad, she was more beautiful than any color in the world. She was the princess of his heart for the past fifteen years.
Molly stood on the steps, looking at the stunned Chad. The smile on her face grew wider, and she knew without asking that she was the most beautiful one there.
“Chad, I……Whoa!”
Molly, not looking where she was going, tripped over her own dress and almost fell.
Chad and Mr. Kendrick ran forward. Chad was a step faster. He rushed forward, grabbing Molly by the waist and absorbing her impact.
Chad almost fell. Luckily, he grabbed onto the railing of the stairs, steadying himself.
Molly, who had suddenly thrown herself into Chad's arms, let out a scream in fear.
Mr. Kendrick arrived later, looking at his children, “Are you guys okay?”
Molly pouted, “I’m fine, Dad.”
Chad steadied himself, gently tapped Molly's forehead, “Can't you watch where you're going? What if you fell down the stairs and cracked your head open?”
“Well, you're by my side, so I can just fall right into your arms.”
Chad, "What if I wasn’t by your side?”
“Then I wouldn't have come downstairs. I came down so you could see if I look good in this dress,” Molly said.
Mr. Kendrick laughed and asked, "So you just want your brother to see, not your dad?"
"The main focus is to impress my brother."
This sentence made the originally angry Chad unable to get mad, leaving only indulgence.
Coleen came out and saw her daughter standing in the living room, “You're not even fully dressed yet, why did you come downstairs?”
“Really? I’m not ready yet, Mom?” Molly looked at her clothes, “I thought I was done. I think it looks pretty.”
Coleen came downstairs, and opened a jewelry box, “Aren't you going to wear any jewelry? You look so bare without any embellishments. It’s too plain.”
The whole family trusted Coleen's taste.
Coleen handed the jewelry box to her daughter. Inside was a string of golden pearl necklaces. The pearls were of moderate size, strung in small rings, which were made of golden beads. Under the light, the golden beads shone, and the pearls were pure white, smooth, and transparent.
Not everyone can pull off pearls, some people would look heavy with them, while others would look stingy. But Molly, wearing pearls, looked like a bright angel.
The necklace didn't have any irregular pendants; it was completely round, very regular, and very fitting for her status as a rich young lady. The bracelet was covered with a layer of gold, and it had a small pearl-white bow, looking very delicate. She also had a matching ring and a pair of earrings.
“Wow, Mom, this set is so pretty.” Molly immediately fell in love with it.
Coleen answered, “This is what Mom bought for you. Here, let me put them on for you.” Coleen picked up the earrings to put them on her daughter.
Mr. Kendrick had nothing to do, so he put the necklace on his daughter.
Chad held her hand and carefully put the bracelet on her. After that, he picked up the ring, and Molly stretched out her finger, “Chad, put it on for me.”
