Tom was given the assignment, and he immediately began investigating the identity of the girl in the video.
Meanwhile, Brian had inadvertently given Finley a crucial piece of information, allowing him to avoid a potential punishment and was let go.
The next day, Tom came to Finley with the results of his investigation, saying enthusiastically, "Boss, we might be looking at a game-changer here. Molly is Jade, and the Byrne family saved her life fifteen years ago."
Upon hearing this, a sly smile spread across Finley's face. "Ha, no wonder when someone wanted to investigate Chad and get him suspended, Bruce put his career on the line to stop it. So the two families have this kind of relationship."
Tom also felt pretty good about this. "Sir, what's our next move?"
"I bet the Byrne family never thought the little girl they saved fifteen years ago would turn out to be such a troublemaker."
...
"Molly, what on earth were you doing on your first day at work?" The Byrne family all gathered at their house, listening to Coleen chew her daughter out.
Molly was hugging Chad's arm, hiding behind him with a guilty expression.
Chad looked at her fondly. "What did you do on your first day at work?"
Molly glanced at her mother and whispered, "I didn't like the low salary of the administrative intern, so I went to the financial department on my own without telling Mom."
Chad chuckled. "You really take advantage of the fact that the company is owned by our family, don't you?"
Coleen pointed at her daughter and complained to the family, "Can you believe her? I dropped her off at the office in the morning, and when I went to pick her up in the afternoon, they told me she had quit. She spent the whole day with Ms. Villanova."
Molly frowned and said, "But Mom, the salary you offered was really, really low."
Coleen was so angry she wanted to smack her daughter, but Kendrick held her back, laughing. "Come on, if Molly switched to the financial department on her own, it means she's smart. She knows where the money is. It's related to her major anyway, so let's consider it a learning experience."
Coleen was still fuming. "She wants to intern in the financial department? Over my dead body! She's going to the administrative department, and that's final."
Molly's chin pressed against Chad's shoulder once again as she spoke to him, and the warmth of her breath wafted directly onto Chad's neck. "Chad, my salary is really low."
For some reason, Molly always enjoyed being around Chad.
Feeling the warmth of her breath on his neck, Chad felt a flicker of emotions for her, his Adam's apple bobbing.
Molly added, "I can't even afford to take care of myself."
Chad gave her a smile, pulling out his own paycheck. "Listen to Mom. Be a good intern for two months, and you can have my salary too."
Molly didn't hesitate to pocket Chad's paycheck. "Chad, you're the best."
Just then, Chad's phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and disentangled himself from Molly. "I need to take this call outside."
