Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 432

Molly clapped her “dim-witted” nephew on the shoulder. “With nearly a decade of my novel reading experience, I reckon this: if the guy gets involved in a scandal while he’s having a tiff with his wife, the next step would be the wife lead getting jealous but not openly confronting the guy about his relationship with the other woman. The male lead will then assume that his wife doesn’t love him, as she doesn’t seem bothered by his scandal.”

“The progression usually goes: Cold war, misunderstanding deepens, manipulative woman gets the upper hand, and divorce! Then the girl finds out she’s pregnant. She doesn’t tell the guy about the baby, and then…”

“Stop!” Leo interjected, “Keep it real, please.”

Molly snapped her fingers. “Alright, reality check. Do you think Mia is the type to silently suffer injustices? If Andre dares to mess around, given Mia’s intolerance for transgressions, she could storm into Cedillo Inc., and cause a scene. Best case scenario, Andre ends up in the hospital. Worst case, Mia ends up in jail.”

Leo had thought his advice was pretty solid until he visited the hospital and had this discussion with Molly. Now, he felt like he might have planted a bomb for his dear uncle.

“I wonder what Mia is up to now?”

At the Irvin residence, Mia had been sitting on the couch for a while, browsing various search engines on her phone, even checking international news about a certain “Andre”.

The housekeeper called out to her, “Miss, it’s lunch time.”

Mia didn’t hear her. Her brow furrowed in concentration. She was unable to find anything. “You guys go ahead. I’m not hungry.”

Madison walked over to call her daughter to dinner, but was startled by the search terms on her screen: Andre’s mistress. “Mia, what’s going on?”

Mia quickly put her phone down and turned to her shocked mother. “Mom, don’t panic. It’s nothing. I was just goofing around. Really, don’t overthink it.”

Madison looked concerned. “I’ll call Andre and ask him to come over tonight to talk.” Minor spats between couples were normal, but if it escalated to something unforgivable, that wouldn’t be acceptable.

Mia hurriedly stopped her mother. “Mom, I was just messing around. I’ve even looked up Dad’s mistress on my phone.”

After saying that, Madison smacked her daughter on the back. “Stop fooling around!”

Mia, having been lightly scolded, quickly comforted her mother, “Mom, let’s go eat.”

After lunch, Mia felt sleepy.

Madison came into her daughter’s bedroom and massaged her legs. She wanted to ask her daughter what was going on, but Mia fell asleep shortly after lying down.

In the afternoon, Naomi and Hansen visited the Irvin residence, intending to take Mia home. Before Mia could refuse, Madison insisted on her daughter staying.

Naomi politely invited Mia home, but Madison was equally firm in keeping her daughter with her. Madison wasn’t naive. She knew to confront the root of the problem. “What has Andre been so busy with lately? I haven’t seen him come to see Mia.”

Hansen and Naomi were both embarrassed and didn’t know how to respond. Fortunately, Mia answered for them, “Mom, Andre’s company is working on a big project, so he’s really busy. That’s why he hasn’t come to see me.”

Madison smiled. “I see. Men needs to balance work and home.” After saying that, she changed the subject.

Hansen and Naomi didn’t stay long. They left after seeing Mia. On the way back, Hansen cursed his son again, “That little rascal, he’s the reason my daughter-in-law ran away.”

In the Cedillo Inc. CEO’s office, Andre picked up his phone several times but hesitated and put it back down.

Today, he was uncharacteristically inefficient. It seemed like he didn’t get anything done the entire day.
