The moment the little guy’s eyes landed on the stranger standing in the room, the group of men couldn’t hide their irritation. They glared at Cooper, who had just caught the toddler’s attention, and one of them snapped, “What do you want?”
Cooper put away his phone and looked at them cautiously. “And who might you all be?”
It looked like tensions were about to rise.
The only one unaffected was the little guy, who squealed with excitement.
As the standoff continued, Cooper bent down to pick up the child. Just as he was about to lift the boy, his wrist was grabbed by Conner. “That’s my son you’re about to lift. You need your hand or not?”
“That bundle of joy is my sister’s doing, my sister’s raising.”
Mars, puzzled, called out, “Cooper?”
Cooper looked towards him. “You know me?”
Cooper, Andre’s brother-in-law. Conner had heard of him, and he let go immediately.
“Looks like we all know each other here. We’re friends of your brother-in-law, godfathers to Henry.”
Cooper then successfully scooped up his much-missed nephew, who was as soft, fragrant, and adorable as he imagined. Without any hesitation or care for his image, he planted a kiss on the child's face.
The little one was stunned.
Soon, the group of men shifted their attention back to coddling and fussing over the little treasure.
Mia excused herself to the powder room, leaving the crowd waiting in the living room.
“Anya, where’s your aunt?” Mia asked.
The innocent little Ning, holding Molly’s bouquet, responded, “Auntie, Uncle had to change into his groom’s suit, so Auntie kicked us all out here.”
“That would mean you all need to scoot.”
Molly wasn’t too keen on sharing Chad with anyone else, even if it was just a fraction.
Soon after, the door opened, and there stood Chad in his suit, looking dapper and poised. He reassured Molly as they walked, “If you get nervous, just look at me.”
After he stepped out, Chad greeted Mia with a smile, “Mia, got to rush.”
The joy of the groom was palpable in every expression.
Mia nodded and went to the dressing room, where she found Molly in a gorgeous white wedding dress, looking radiant and regal. Molly had been fussing about losing weight, but on her wedding day, she hadn’t lost an ounce – not that it mattered because she looked stunning.
“That’s perfect, the dress accentuates your waist beautifully. If you lost any more weight, your bust would suffer,” Mia teased without a filter.
Molly, gazing at her reflection, took a deep breath. “Mia, I’m nervous.”
Mia joked, “What if we have Anya stand next to you and crack jokes?”
As Molly finished her makeup, she glanced at Anya, “No, just seeing her would make me laugh.”
Anya: “…”
Soon, Mia heard a familiar cry. “Oh no, my son is crying again. His tears could fill Lake Michigan and still keep flowing.”
Despite her complaints, the crying got closer, and soon Andre’s voice could be heard. “You’ll see your mom in a bit, no more tears.”
The moment the little guy saw Mia, he pouted and nestled into her embrace.
Mia naturally caught her crying baby, asking her husband, “He’s been fed, had his playtime, what could possibly be wrong with Henry now?”
