Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 674

Anya was simmering with frustration, her eyes betraying a mix of hurt and longing as she looked at Leo. Finally, she spoke up, her voice tinged with a hint of betrayal. "She didn't really need you to fetch that book, Leo. It was just an excuse to chat you up."

Leo, caught off guard, dismissed the idea with a scoff. "Her? Not a chance. She's not my type."

"But she's clearly interested in you," Anya persisted.

She pointed to the spot where the girl had been sitting, a thick, untouched volume of 'The Comprehensive Mirror for Aid in Government' still lying there. "She didn't even open that book. It's full of complex language she doesn't care about. She just wanted to talk to you."

"How was I supposed to know if she could even understand it?" Leo replied, genuinely puzzled. "Can I just stop fetching books for people? Would that make things right?"

"Did you exchange contacts?" Anya pressed, still not ready to let it go.

Leo pulled out his phone, scrolling through it for Anya to see. "Look, nothing. No new contacts." He would have known if she had made such a move.

As Anya examined Leo's phone, a message popped up that caught their attention: "Leo, did you manage to cheer up your girlfriend? She's too cute to stay mad."

Anya couldn't see the rest of the message, but what she did catch made her pause, her anger inexplicably melting away.

Leo awkwardly put his phone away. "Uh, I'll just reply to this. You keep being mad."

Anya murmured an absent "Okay," her confusion over her sudden shift in mood evident.

Leo, equally perplexed, found himself navigating the murky waters of female emotions, especially Anya’s.
