Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 695

After Molly slapped Chad across the face, he became noticeably more subdued.

Lying in Molly's bed, Chad just couldn't fall asleep. Molly sat beside him, her eyes firmly on him, instructing, "Close your eyes."

Chad kept trying to sneak a touch, but each time, Molly swatted his hand away. "Go to sleep, eyes shut!"

Finally, with his eyes closed, Chad managed to catch a brief rest.

Since he was staying at his father-in-law's house, Chad didn't have any clothes there, so he ended up sleeping in the buff. Molly, surprisingly, didn't object this time.

Chad's clothes, which he had removed just before bed, were neatly collected by Molly and placed on the armchair at the foot of the bed. She watched over Chad until he fell asleep, then quietly slipped out to call her mom. "Hey, Mom, has Chad been home these past few days?"

"If you're not home, why would your brother bother coming back? If it weren't for showering or changing clothes, he could go a year without stepping foot in the house."

"So, he's been staying late at work?" Molly's voice rose in shock as if her mom was right in front of her.

Her mother frowned, "He didn't come to see you?"

"He did, but... I never kept him over," Molly's voice tapered off. "Is he sick or something?" Molly wasn't sure who she was more annoyed with as she hung up the phone in a huff after cursing Chad out.

Returning to the bedroom, she found Chad sound asleep. Approaching the bed, she contemplated giving Chad a punch in the stomach, muttering, "Chad, you're just a drama king, always playing the victim to win my sympathy, huh? Well, nice try, jerk."

Chad stirred slightly, and Molly instantly quieted down, torn between irritation and concern.

Also annoyed at herself for being so soft.

By noon, the household staff had prepared lunch and came to call the family to eat, but ended up finding only Mr. and Mrs. Smith at the table.

"Where's everyone else?" Mrs. Smith asked.

The staff replied, "Asleep, perhaps?"

With precision, they added, "Miss isn't asleep, but Sir is. Miss insisted we shouldn't disturb him."

"Then let Molly come down for lunch."

"Miss prefers to wait and eat together when Sir wakes up."

Mr. Smith patted his wife's hand, "Let's just eat, Naomi. They'll eat when they wake up. Calling them now would be pointless."

Mrs. Smith then suggested, "Why don't we call Anya and Leo back then? It's such a waste for just the two of us to eat all this."

Upon hearing his mother's concern about wasting food, Leo indignantly said, "I'm not eating!"

After hanging up, he told Anya, "Come on, let's go out to eat."

The mention of food instantly cheered Anya up, and she eagerly followed Leo out.

Mia woke up in her husband's arms around three in the afternoon.

The bedroom was a mess, sunlight streaming through the window onto Mia's delicate skin, marked here and there with red patches. The floor was littered with a girl's tulle skirt and a man's shirt, evidencing the events that had transpired.

Her husband's arms had become a habitual pillow, wrapping around his petite wife even if she wasn't particularly keen on it.

But, "Mia, you've already annoyed me once today."

So, Mia rolled over into her husband's embrace.

She felt utterly defeated.

Barely half an hour into their sleep, a rapid knocking woke them. Hansen's voice followed, urgent, "Hurry up, this is unbearable, whoever's kid it is, take them. They're driving me insane."

Then, the cries of a child seeped through the door.

Andre opened it, scooped up the little bundle of energy with one arm, and unceremoniously shut the door.

Hansen was left speechless.
