So, little Henry, the darling of the Andre family, was the center of attention. "This Andre kid is so chubby and cuddly, why is he so adorable when he cries?"
A little bundle of joy instantly captivated everyone around. His tiny pink lips pouted in the cutest way.
Hearing the compliments, Naomi couldn’t help but brag, "My Henry, as adorable as he is, has quite the temper from being spoiled. He cries whenever things don’t go his way. But you should see him when he smiles, he’s even more adorable!
You have no idea, when he’s in a good mood, he babbles and laughs at us. We’ve stopped watching TV or listening to music; we just watch his little face and listen to his sweet babbling.
The first thing my husband does when he gets home is to hold him."
Mia hugged her son, "Sweetie, give your great-aunt a smile."
Henry’s crying gradually subsided as he snuggled into his mother’s arms.
At that moment, Naomi noticed the tree trunks and the soft mat on the ground, and curiously asked, "Mia, weren’t you picking cherries? How did you end up in the woods?"
Mia flipped the camera around, live-streaming what the family was up to. "We picked cherries this morning, and at noon Molly mentioned a fun spot nearby, so here we are."
Then, Andre came over with a skewer of grilled chicken, feeding it to his wife.
Henry, with tear-streaked eyelashes, stopped crying and watched his mother’s mouth intently.
Mimicking his mother, he pretended to chew. Then, he opened his mouth wide, eyes fixed on his mother’s mouth, wanting a bite.
His little hand reached for her mouth, grabbing for food, "Help, darling."
Andre came over, scooping up his son with one arm. Through the phone, everyone could hear Henry’s cries, matching his chubby cheeks.
"The Andre kid has some strong lungs, huh?" A woman beside Naomi asked with a laugh.
Naomi replied, "Oh, that’s nothing. Sometimes he can cry non-stop, and nothing we do can soothe him."
It was one of those times when no one could soothe him, not aunt, uncle, or grandparents.
Finally, Henry ended up back in his mother’s arms, his little mouth pouting, looking so pitiful.
"Naomi, I’ve got to go, my son’s back in my arms. I’ll bring some cherries over tonight."
"Alright, take care and don’t forget sunscreen."
After ending the call, Naomi went through the family group chat history, sharing Henry’s daily moments, "Look, when he smiles, the whole family lights up. You all heard him crying just now."
A friend commented, "You get along well with your in-laws, always helping out. You even help take care of their kids."
Naomi smiled, "They’re all just big kids at heart, even though they’re married with families. They’re still in their early twenties, playing house. Without my mom around, I, as the eldest sister-in-law, have to step up.
Mia was still like a child after her marriage, always causing trouble, giving Andre a headache. He couldn’t let her hang out with the other troublemakers in our family. But since becoming a mom, she’s settled down a lot. Now it’s my sister-in-law’s turn. She probably doesn’t fully understand what marriage means yet, still seeming clueless. She wants to live a good life with Chad, but past relationships make it hard. She’s still like a child. But Mia was like this too; maybe Molly will settle down once she becomes a mom."
"And Leo?"
Naomi chuckled, "How about I tell you about my Anya?" She had nothing to say about her own son, but plenty about Anya.
