Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 768

The bed was empty, not a soul in sight. Andre immediately dashed out, searching the bathroom for the missing duo but came up empty. His drowsiness vanished in an instant. He hurried back to the bedroom and grabbed his phone to call his brother-in-law.

At the campus.

"Henry, don't try to snatch food from your uncle's mouth. You can't have any; this is your uncle's breakfast. Don't pout. Oh, come on, don't grab, stop, stop."

Cooper was struggling to manage the little one. Holding the child for a short while was manageable, but over time, he was getting overwhelmed. His phone rang, and Cooper, with his face tilted upwards, quickly chewed and swallowed his sandwich. A little chubby hand was still tugging at his mouth, "Uncle, your phone is ringing."

That morning, after asking for leave, he had planned to take his nephew back to the hotel. But his vanity got the better of him, and he ended up parading Henry around, showing off his adorable nephew to acquaintances from afar. Eventually, he got hungry and decided to grab two breakfasts to go, one for his sister and brother-in-law and one to eat on the way.

And then it hit him! Those without kids don't realize you can't just eat in front of them. So, there he was, holding the child in one arm, a takeaway bag slung over the other, stretching his neck to munch on his breakfast. Henry, red-faced with envy at first, lunged to gnaw directly at his uncle's mouth. Then, attempting to snatch the food with his little hands and failing, he tried to grab his uncle's breakfast, managing to get a bit of a cheese croissant and eagerly shoving it into his mouth.

Not being allowed to eat, Henry started bawling uncontrollably on the street, his little mouth quivering, filling the quiet campus with his cries of injustice. As the child cried and the phone rang, Henry, unable to stand and still holding a partially eaten croissant, made Cooper realize the exhaustion of childcare. He jogged to a trash bin to dispose of his uneaten burger. Then he moved to a nearby bench, fishing out his phone from his pocket with one hand while Henry's tears and drool smeared his uncle's face, the little one’s sobs sounding oddly melodious.

By the third call from Andre, Cooper finally answered, "Hello, brother-in-law, save me."

Half an hour later, the couple arrived at the school. Henry, sitting on his uncle's lap holding a snack wrapper and gnawing on it, was distracted by his uncle's phone, watching a video of himself crying from the night before.

"Henry," Andre called out. Upon seeing his dad, Henry immediately threw away the snack wrapper and reached out, crying for his father.

"How did you end up running away with your uncle this morning? Normally, you'd be making a fuss, but today my little 'sparrow' was so quiet." Mia, having just woken up, ran out without even washing her face. Henry collapsed against his dad's neck, sobbing.
