Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 828

In the evening, Chad came home, carrying his little nephew who’d had his fill, and shared some of the day’s funny stories. “Just like Molly, he’s either chewing on my police badge or my medals.”

Curious Mia hopped online to chat with her friend, “What medals? Molly, what did you get into?”

Molly, reminded of an embarrassing moment, quickly diverted, “Let’s not go there. What were you about to say?”

“Annie.”

“Huh?” Molly immediately perked up, “Is she involved with my Chad?”

“Nope, not your Chad, but looks like she’s got something going with your godbrother.”

Molly’s emotions were all over the place, but she calmed down, “As long as she’s not with my Chad, I’m good. But what’s up with her and my godbrother? You mean Conner, right?”

Mia nodded and sighed, “I was going to dig into it, but tonight your nephew almost choked on a cucumber, and I didn’t get the chance to finish my question or get any details.”

“How do you know they’re involved?” Molly’s curiosity was piqued.

Mia explained, “This afternoon, Henry was taken to the police station by Conner, and when your brother and I went to pick him up from Conner’s hotel, I overheard a bit of Conner’s chat with your Andre.”

The Cedillo family often had unique curiosities, like Jade asking, “Why just bits and pieces?”

“Well… I ate Henry’s lollipop, and he started crying. I had to calm him down, and by the time he was settled, your Andre’s conversation was over. Oh, and that lollipop was from Annie.”

Molly suggested, “Alright, pal, let’s swap intel. You find out what’s going on between Annie and Conner, and I’ll dig into Chad’s counterfeit case. Sound like a plan? Don’t you want to know who made that fake $50?”

“Deal.”

They both agreed instantly.

The next morning, as Leo headed to work, he spotted a Rolls-Royce Phantom boldly parked at the office entrance. The security didn’t dare ask it to move, and the passing office workers couldn’t help but stare.

Leo lived nearby, so he walked to work, and as he was about to enter, the car’s horn grabbed his attention. Everyone else stopped, but Leo continued towards the building.

Conner rolled down the window, calling out, “Leo.”

Leo turned, surprised, “Uncle?”

With the morning crowd, seeing Leo know the luxury car owner made some people do a double-take.

Ignoring the looks, Leo walked over to Conner’s car, opened the passenger door, and got in. “Uncle, what’s up?”

Conner took out his laptop, “Leo, are you busy this afternoon? I need you to check if this surveillance footage has been tampered with. You can’t take the laptop or the video with you; it’s a family secret.”

Leo opened the laptop, not waiting for instructions, and started working on it, “Uncle, is it this video?”

Conner was taken aback, “You found it that fast?”

Leo replied, “Uncle, the video’s on this hard drive. I could access your surveillance from my laptop. It’s not secure at all.”

Conner was speechless, realizing there’s always a bigger fish.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Leo swiftly tapped away on the laptop. Soon, a call from Anya came through, and Leo quickly handed the laptop to Conner, “Uncle, meet me at my place tonight. I’m nearly late for work, gotta clock in. I’ll check it tonight. I’ve locked the video on your laptop, so it’s safe now, no hackers can get in. I’m off…”
