Sweet Wife in Hidden Marriage novel Chapter 58

"Not the suitable one? So you’re the suitable one to show up with Archibald for a charity event?" Sebastian snorted.

Lillian was stunned and looked up at Sebastian at once, her mind racing. So he meant that she shouldn’t have attended the charity event with Archibald last time? Therefore, the reason he would take her to the anniversary celebration on all accounts this time and walk down the red carpet with her was to let everybody know that she showed up for the celebration as his female companion?

Was he challenging and competing with Archibald?

Staring at Sebastian, Lillian burst out laughing, sarcastically. She blurted, "Sebastian, you’re so childish!"

"Lillian Spencer!" Sebastian naturally wouldn’t stand her talking to him like this. He was even ashamed into anger since she could see through his mind. That was right. He couldn’t bear the fact that she was Archibald’s female companion! Lillian was his wife, and how dared she show up in public with some other man?

She should have sat around at home like before!

"Listen, you’re not going to any events with Archibald in the future!" Sebastian warned savagely, not realizing when he had started to pay attention to her schedule.

"Sebastian, I am a free person."

"I’m not restricting your freedom. I’m just telling you that you’re not allowed to be Archibald’s female companion!"

"Sebastian, I find that you have psychological problems. You can have Joanna, but I can’t have any man?"

"This is your life as the wife of a Palmer’s!"

They were yelling louder and louder. Glaring at each other, both of them wouldn’t back off until Sebastian shouted the last sentence at her. At that moment, Lillian seemed to be hit hard by something head-on!

Her life, this was her life!

From the very beginning, from the very instant Lillian had consented to marry into the Palmer family, everything was destined. She would never forget Sebastian’s indifferent and disdainful look the first time they had met.

Later Lillian had known that the woman Sebastian had wanted to marry was Joanna. It was her appearance that had dragged the three of them into the chaotic situation today.

The assistant knocked on the car window, telling them that the disturbances outside was already quelled and that they could go out.

The two, in a stalemate, shook off the bad mood, cooled down a bit and got off the car again.

Just when Sebastian helped Lillian out, she whispered in his ear all of a sudden, "Sebastian, you yourself was to blame for not being able to marry Joanna back then."

Lillian said and showed a perfect smile to greet the people waiting for them to walk down the red carpet without looking at him.

However, Sebastian was stunned after hearing her words, and the smile froze on his face.

She was scoffing at him. After all, Lillian was not to blame for the fact that he was unable to marry the woman he loved. The only one to blame was he himself!

His hand was holding hers. At this moment, Sebastian wished he could crush her hand. What a shameless woman! How dared she laugh at him like this? If she hadn’t been a woman greedy for the wealth of the Palmer family and promised his grandfather, would he have married her?

Should Sebastian have violated his grandfather? He would never go against the elders!

"Sebastian, you’re not walking?" Seeing that he stood still, Lillian squinted at him, ignoring the coldness in his eyes intentionally. She knew her words would provoke him.

But Lillian was right. Since Joanna was the woman he loved and must marry, would things have turned out like this if he, as a man, hadn’t compromised?

In fact, Lillian admired Joanna’s courage. Joanna had actually taken so many pills for Sebastian, but what about Sebastian? He had just made Joanna popular. What else had he done for her?

If Sebastian had been a little braver, anything could have happened, right?
