"Darren? Are you insane? Why do you come back again? Run away, now! Save yourself!"
When Isaac saw Darren, his face turned deadly pale. All the while, he thought that Darren was somewhere far and safe.
"You've already fled, why do you come back? You want to die?" Isaac asked again, desperately. He couldn't understand why Darren decided to return after having a chance to escape.
However, in all truth, Isaac didn't know Darren very well. What he had just said to Gaston that Darren would avenge him was his mere imagination. He didn't think, even at extreme conditions, that Darren would avenge him. After all, they had just known each other for a few days.
But now, like a word from an angel, Darren had come back. Isaac knew that it was not just a coincidence, and he was moved and worried at the same time.
"Good boy, you come back to die?" Gaston sneered at the sight of Darren.
Though he wasn't happy with it, Darren's return was absolutely unexpected for Gaston. He failed to sense any sign of Darren and thought that the latter had already run away with his tail behind his back. But it turned out that Darren would rather die than run like a coward.
At the thought of it, Gaston considered Darren to be a lunatic rather than a brave warrior willing to die for his principles.
"Why do you ask? Are you scared?" Darren smiled calmly with a sinister expression on his face.
"Ha ha. Whom will I be afraid of? You?"
Gaston asked while bursting in diabolical laughter.
"What a fool you are! You are risking your life for your so-called friendship, aren't you? Before you die, I will give you a piece of advice. Life is the most valuable thing in the world. Compared to life, brotherhood and friendship are all nonsense. Do you understand?" Gaston stared at Darren. In his eyes, Darren was the one who would die soon, and he would make sure of that.
"Darren! Why do you come back? Damn it. I'll be terrified to see you die for nothing! You can't save me. You'll be killed, too," Isaac said, agitated and frustrated at what he thought as Darren's reckless action. In his head, he believed that Darren made a wrong decision in coming for him. He was, in some ways, guilty for putting Darren's life on the line, and it was all because of him.
"Are you underestimating me, Isaac? Don't you trust me? I won't leave you alone here. This guy has wounded you so severely. If I don't take his head off, am I still your friend?" This time, the words that came out of Darren's mouth were calm and reassuring. He was sending a clear message to Isaac that he would help and avenge him, no matter what it took.
"Well, if you still have the guts to boast, I will send you two to hell together," Gaston laughed while giving out a threat.
After saying such vehement words, Gaston wielded his sword and rushed towards Darren with his powerful aura trailing behind him in a scarlet glow.
Anticipating a raging attack from Gaston, Darren sneered at him. As he prepared himself to receive and counter the blow, Darren pushed Isaac out of the way before the fight began. The moment Gaston's sword was just a few inches away from him, Darren released his blade and sword intents simultaneously. After one swift move, both intents exploded, creating a colossal wall of dust and smoke coupled with a thundering rumble.
"Well, well! Your friend just told me that you practice both sword and blade at the same time. Rare indeed, yet your cultivation base is still at a deficient level. I admire your guts in facing me in a battle. You're courting death anyway!"
