The fierce fight between the three sect leaders had caused lots of storms and destroyed the entire space. Even though Darren and Hobson were a kilometer away from the battlefield, they were still actively suppressed.
"Without the old man's protection, we can't even withstand that dispersed Holy Will of them." Struggling to steady himself, Hobson paled at the dispersed Holy Will attacking them randomly.
"After all, they are holy warriors, who have gotten over a barrier of the martial arts. Definitely, they would be compelling," Darren said despite being between a rock and a hard place.
"Well, we will be no worse than them when we become holy warriors. Especially you, I can't imagine how powerful you will be like after you become a holy warrior."
"It's not that easy to reach the Holy Realm. Especially for me, to become a holy warrior, I have to go through unbearable tortures and painstaking tasks. It would be a miracle if I were to reach the Holy Realm alive," Darren said in a calm voice. He was grateful that the dispersed Holy Will had ebbed a little by now.
Darren was telling the truth. Once he broke through to the Holy Realm, he had no choice but to experience the Heavenly Repression again. It was hard to conclude whether he could live through it or not.
Moreover, the Giant Ape advised Darren before that the hardest Conflicting Cultivation in the whole world is the Rule and Martial Arts Cultivation.
According to the ape, the conflict usually occurred the moment the person reached the Holy Realm. It was hard for Darren to imagine what kind of sufferings he would go through if ever he reached that stage. Especially considering that he cultivated both the rule and martial arts at the same time!
Twenty hours later, as the huge and surging Holy Will finally waned and the battle gradually subsided, Darren and Hobson put themselves at ease and let down their guards.
Darren and Hobson discreetly released their spiritual senses and found that Arlo, the leader of the Dragon Chasing Sect, had been crushed, amputated, and eventually died.
"Unfortunately, I can't assimilate his talent. Otherwise, I would be a step closer to the Genuine Domain Degree talent," Darren uttered in dismay.
Nonetheless, even if he couldn't assimilate the talent, he still felt relieved since one enemy had been killed—one less oppressor to deal with.
As for Harrison and Dexter, after the violent battle, they were covered with wounds that their bones were visible over their skins. Arlo was apparently extremely powerful judging from the injuries he had inflicted upon them.
"Darren, how about we sneak up on them and kill them behind their backs?"
Seeing a perfect time to strike while the iron was hot, Hobson had found that both of them were very weak after the battle, and their fighting power had dropped to the lowest point after they reached the Holy Realm.
"No, it's not safe to do that," Darren opposed directly, totally dismissing Hobson's suggestion.
Darren knew for a fact that the most powerful method for a holy warrior was not dependent on their bodily strength, but the pressure and attacks by the Holy Will. Even if they were injured now, Darren and Hobson still could not compete with them if they would decide to attack them in surprise.
Back then, still fresh in his memories, Hobson had been smashed thousands of times by Jordan and Harrison, who were both severely injured at that time.
"Let's return to the stone hall and find a place to hide. I'm sure a fight between Dexter and Harrison would commence any time soon. The one who survives the battle will take the examination. If all things went well, we would completely be safe," Darren said in suggestion to Hobson. He was just heeding to alternatives that would do them less or at least no harm at all.
"Well, then let's go."
With that, Darren and Hobson returned to the stone hall.
After thirty days, before this very day, a figure cautiously stepped into the stone hall.
"It's Dexter!" whispered Darren in a hushed tone.
At the sight of the approaching figure, Darren and Hobson hid behind a stone gate, where they could clearly see the man's face.
"It seems that he killed Harrison."
"Why does he look so nervous?" While carefully observing Dexter from afar, Hobson noticed that Dexter looked over his shoulders from time to time, paused for a while, looked again, and then walked cautiously.
"He didn't know that the old man was suppressed. Now that he entered here by himself, he is afraid that we will join hands to kill him," Darren said with his head lowered in hiding.
"Well, I see." Seeing a point on what Darren had said, Hobson nodded and agreed at once.
At the moment, Dexter had already memorized everything on the ancient scroll. Thus, he rushed to a stone door like a ghost, wrapped the ancient scroll in the shape of a cylinder, and stuffed it into a hole in the door.
Out of the blue, Dexter was shrouded by flashes of blood-red light instantaneously.
"Ha-ha, once I become the lord, this ancient palace will be mine. I will make sure that I will be invincible!" Along with his diabolical declaration, Dexter burst out laughing a maleficent laugh.
"Darren, how about we go and bluff him?" Right at that very moment, a sinister plan was formed on Hobson's mind making him grin like a bobcat.
"Yes, that's a good idea." Darren agreed at Hobson's play, and he too drew a freakish grin from ear to ear.
