67. BLIND
CELINE’s POV
“Are you blind or something?” Cynthia didn’t want to stop. “Don’t you know what kind of girl she is? She’s like a malignant tumor in the city! Don’t you know that she seduced her own sister’s boyfriend? Don’t you know that she’s letting other men use her body for money?” as soon as those words rang out, the music abruptly stopped.
The host held the microphone in a death grip and froze for a moment.
Jake became completely still, and after he had recovered enough to look around, he discovered that everyone was staring at us. He cast a worrying look at me before he faced his spoiled brat cousin.
“She’s just a dispensable used girl! A mistress and a wh ore! Why in the name of G od would you want to be with such a woman?! Your mom and dad will never be able to accept her!”
“Cynthia, enough!” Jake had no idea how to stop this spoiled brat g so he decided to grab her arm and drag her off of the stage.
“Where are you taking me?” She was thrashing around, desperately attempting to free herself from Jake’s hold.
“Stop!” I let out a shout the moment they walked by in front of me.
As I got closer to them, I fixed the young woman with a particularly menacing look.
“Who the hell do you think you are, huh!?” I yelled out in a tone that was low and icy as I pressed my index finger against her forehead and uttered the words.
I could see out of the corner of my eye that Brylee was making an effort to run towards us, but Sebastian managed to stop her by

grabbing her arm.
“What did you say?” Cynthia’s expression conveyed shock as she looked at me.
I quirked one side of my lips, my face cold and mocking.
“Who do you think you are, Cynthia Anderson!” I reiterated myself, but this time I raised my volume, which resulted in her eyes becoming more horrified.
It appeared as though she could not believe that I would dare to speak to her in such a manner.
“If you want to scream and shout, what qualifications do you have? Why do you feel the need to wallow in such a state of exasperation? What makes you think you deserve it?”
As I spoke, I walked around her, raking my eyes over her from head to
toe.
“You only owe this sense of entitlement and vanity to the money that was given to you by your parents! I know for sure that if you were to be stranded in a foreign place, you wouldn’t be able to survive!”
Then I smirked at her.
“Did you criticize me for being shameless? I’ll tell you something dear ….” I sighed. I don’t want to tell this, but I have to. “When you haven’t eaten for three days and your vision blacks out, you’ll learn that shame is worth nothing in the face of hunger!”
I was attempting to read her expression, but she had a blank look on
her face.”
So, I am a dispensable, used girl?” I smirked. “Let’s not discuss the question of whether or not I am, but is this the kind of thing that should be said to the daughter of a wealthy noble family? To think that you are attending the most expensive school in town in order to

learn words like those…? If this is the case, then what sets you apart from those shrews who are in the market?”
As a result of her embarrassment, Cynthia’s face flushed and her eyes became more dark. “You….you…”
But I paid no attention to her.
“To put it succinctly, you are nothing more than a parasite that is living off of your parents, my dear. Even a daughter who has left her family would do better than you, because even if they are unable to bring glory to their families, at the very least they won’t bring shame. You, on the other hand… are an insidious bloodsucking parasite through and through. You have not only brought shame on yourself by demonstrating how uneducated you are, but you also boast about this accomplishment of yours throughout the entirety of New York City. You are truly at the pinnacle of your profession and in a class all by yourself!”
“What?” She had a taut expression on her face as she started to
tremble.
“Didn’t I make myself clear the previous time? If you don’t humble yourself and learn from your mistakes, your haughtiness will be the cause of your demise, and your parents will be mortified.” I paused. Because you are the daughter of a wealthy and influential family, you should conduct yourself appropriately. Of course, if you want to act like a shrew, you are more than welcome to do so; in that case, feel free to spew forth all of those vulgarities, which ought to be right up your alley!”
Everyone was rendered speechless as a result of my words, but I didn’t anticipate some of them nodding their heads in agreement.
I was hoping that the arrogance of this young woman had made all the other daughters of her age look down on me.

Cynthia’s eyes widened suddenly when she realized something.
“That day… it was you…” she uttered, completely taken aback. “You are the one who… you said, you were Brylee…”
I understood exactly what it was that she was trying to say. That particular day, when I left Sebastian’s room, she was outside and she saw me. She was surprised when I talked back to her because she had mistaken me for Brylee. She had said negative things about me but I had defended myself.
“You are the….”
My lips curled into a smile and leaned forward to whisper in her ear. ” Do you want everyone to know that your brother brought me home that night? Or do you think that you haven’t completely embarrassed the Anderson family just now?”
My words left her beautiful face in a state of shock. She appeared to be staring at me with her fists closed, and I couldn’t help but laugh in victory. But I knew that she wouldn’t dare to hurt me in front of many people.
