This was the first time Max had ever seen such a scene. His blood felt like it was turning to ice!
He watched helplessly as the woman who should have been his was in the kitchen, eagerly kissing another man. If no one else were at home, they would probably get it on immediately!
Max's heart was as cold as winter, but his face was as warm as a spring breeze. "Wow, you guys are so lovey-dovey! I'm just gonna grab a cold drink."
He took two bottles of cold water from the fridge and gently shook them.
Man, the atmosphere was so weird.
Harvey, thick-skinned as he was, seemed to have forgotten all his worries.
He picked up Eloise, straightened his clothes in front of Max, especially his belt and pants, and then said with a smile, "Max, I'm gonna take a shower first; make yourself at home."
With that, he left them alone.
Eloise knew he did it on purpose.
After he left, she didn't want to chat with Max and quietly started to cook.
Max bent down and stared at Eloise, close enough to make her step back.
He sneered, "Eloise, you don't have to be so scared of me! We're gonna be family, right? He seems to be really into you!"
After saying that, he closed the fridge and walked out.
Eloise figured he must be having a rough time to take it out on her, which she found rather petty.
She planned to tell Harvey later that she didn't want to see Max. As she was flustered, Harvey came in and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"What are you making?" he asked.
Eloise gripped his hand, trying to push him away. But he insisted on holding her, taking some liberties.
Eloise blushed and whispered, "I'm making pasta for them and fried some foie gras."
Harvey kissed her ear and murmured, "And mine?"
