Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 149

Harvey was feeling complicated But he was no longer a petulant boy, he couldn't just act impulsively because Eloise was with Callum.

Like, rushing up to them and pulling them apart. Or, impulsively confessing to Eloise, telling her he wanted to marry her.

He had once told Eloise that he couldn't give her what she wanted. He thought that their breakup was just a common thing. Although he still felt something when he saw her afterwards, he didn't feel like he couldn't live without her.

Yet, when he realized that she might belong to someone else, it was a real kick in the gut!

Harvey was going through some major changes, but he wasn't sure what he wanted. If he just wanted Eloise's body, there were women who were more beautiful and had better figures. As for companionship, Harvey was never short of people wanting to hang out with. Because of his family and looks, there were always plenty of people showing him their kindness.

The one and only Eloise, if she couldn't get marriage, she wouldn't hesitate to leave.

Fireworks filled the sky...

Harvey looked up, his eyes full of unspeakable bitterness. The pair that had been embracing had long disappeared into the crowd. Where did they go? The mood was so good tonight, would they head straight to a hotel...

Harvey's heart ached as if it had been stabbed by a knife, making it hard for him to breathe!

...

After the art exhibition, Callum, ever the gentleman, escorted Eloise home. He could tell that Eloise wasn't fully engaged. Though she did have feelings for him, those were based on his external conditions.

Eloise wasn't really into him. But Callum wasn't discouraged, still gracefully escorting her home and setting the next date.

The night was thick. Eloise said goodbye to Callum downstairs of her apartment. The street light stretched their shadows out long. Callum probably liked her a lot, he talked quite a bit. Finally, he laughed and said, "You better get going, or I'll just keep talking."

Eloise nodded. She took off her scarf and gave it back to him. Callum didn't take it, his face full of deep thought. "In the near future, Eloise, I hope you'll invite me up."

It was an invitation from a mature man, pretty easy to understand.

Eloise was no longer a little girl. She neither agreed nor refused. She simply smiled and said, "We'll see."

Callum laughed and backed away, waving to her, "Ms. Laurent, goodnight."

He opened the car door and got in. Eloise also waved. She thought, the date was very pleasant, and someone like Callum was her ideal partner.

Eloise was in a good mood. She took a bath, smelled nice, came out wrapped in a towel, and received another message from Callum. He had sent a postcard. It was the entrance to his villa, full of fireworks, brimming with Christmas spirit.

Eloise smiled softly. She was about to reply when her phone rang.

The screen showed it was Harvey. Eloise thought for a moment and picked up, but there was silence on the other end. Finally, Eloise broke the silence. "Harvey?"

Harvey's voice sounded a bit hoarse, "Eloise, how have you been doing lately?"

Eloise was thinking, Harvey was not usually such a considerate person, why had he suddenly become so caring? However, because he had helped her father win the lawsuit, she calmly replied, "Yeah, quite well."

"How did you spend Christmas Eve? Did you have fun?"

Eloise was not easily fooled. Since Harvey asked this, he must have known something. She paused for a moment and said softly, "It was nice! Pretty fun."

"Do you have a boyfriend?"
