Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 157

In less than two hours, a team of four experts had arrived in Peterborough.

Harvey personally went to the airport to pick them up.

Once the experts arrived at the hospital, they didn't even have time for a sip of water before they started the consultation.

Harvey stayed with them throughout.

An hour later, the surgical plan was set in stone.

Michelle was extremely grateful. She tightly held Denise's hand and said, "I can't thank you enough for this."

Denise smiled and whispered, "You should thank Attorney Horigan. He pulled some serious strings to get these experts. Ordinary folks wouldn't stand a chance."

Michelle nodded in agreement.

Denise wanted to say more but felt it was inappropriate to meddle in her boss' personal life.

Angus' surgery was going to take a while, so Denise left.

But Harvey didn't.

He sat on a bench in the hospital corridor, dealing with work on his phone.

Eloise went over and sat down next to him.

Harvey paused, glanced at her but didn't say anything.

Eloise handed him a box of washed grapes, saying, "They're good for your health."

Maybe Harvey was still mad - he ignored her and didn't take the grapes.

Eloise felt awkward and said, "Harvey, thank you."

Harvey put his phone away and looked at her, "Ms. Laurent, how do you plan on thanking me?"

Eloise knew what he wanted!

He wanted her back, to start over, to play the game of love with him again.

As for where the game ends, it's his call.

But the big favor she owed him was weighing heavy on Eloise. Even though she knew his intentions, she felt it wasn't right not to give something in return.

And she was single, and they've had their fair share of intimate moments.

In the quiet hospital hallway, Eloise softly said, "Harvey, I really appreciate everything you've done for me! But I can't repay you with my emotions."

Harvey responded coldly, "Ms. Laurent, so how do you plan to repay me? With your body?"

Eloise immediately looked up at him.

Her eyes were glistening, even more so than usual.

Harvey looked at her coldly, no intention to back down.

He didn't do all of this expecting something in return. Even if he wasn't trying to win Eloise back, he would still offer help in such a situation. But Eloise seemed to misunderstand his intentions.

Harvey slowly stood up.

He said, "That could work! It could be quite exciting for me."

Eloise turned pale.

Harvey leaned down and whispered in her ear, "Ms. Laurent, if you don't want to get emotional, then we'll just stick to the physical. But don't cry later."

He maliciously stroked her face, continuing, "Although, I really do want to see you cry."

With that, Harvey decided to go out for a smoke.

But a slender arm gently stopped him...

"Harvey." Eloise looked up at him, her eyes filled with uncertainty.

Harvey looked down at her, his gaze deep.

Eloise was extremely embarrassed, choking up and saying, "Harvey, I really appreciate you..."

Harvey softened.

He gently touched her chestnut hair and said hoarsely, "I'm just going for a smoke! Eloise, I didn't sleep a wink last night, donated 500cc of blood this morning, even the strongest body can't handle this much stress! Even if you stripped naked in front of me right now, I might not have the energy to do anything."

His words were quite direct, making Eloise blush.

Harvey went out and smoked a few cigarettes.

A few hours later, Angus' surgery was a complete success.

When he was wheeled out of the operating room, Michelle cried tears of joy, and Eloise tightly held her father's hand.

After a night of observation, Angus' vital signs had stabilized.

If all goes well, he'd be discharged in a month.

Michelle excitedly said, "We really owe Harvey big time for this. Angus... you have no idea how capable he is."

Angus just smiled.

As they were talking, there was a knock on the door of the ward.

Michelle thought it was Harvey, she gently urged Eloise to open the door, treating him like a son-in-law.

But when the door opened, it was Max standing outside.
