Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 164

End of the year, Harvey's social calendar was packed. He and Eloise hadn't seen each other for days.

Eloise was spending Christmas with Angus and Michelle.

“Holy cow... the pipes burst!”

Michelle's exclamation came from the kitchen. When she came out, her apron was drenched, dripping onto the floor.

Angus swiftly said, “Go change your clothes, otherwise you’ll catch a cold.”

Michelle felt warm inside from Angus' concern.

Heading to the bedroom, she called over to Eloise, “Lou, could you give a call to the property management to fix the pipes? Otherwise, we won't be having dinner tonight.”

Eloise responded and found the number of the property management, then had a chat with them.

They responded pretty quickly, in about half an hour the doorbell rang. Eloise went to open the door.

To her surprise, it was Harvey standing outside.

He was wearing a deep blue shirt, grey wool trousers, and a high-end dark grey coat. He looked mature and handsome!

Eloise was taken aback, “What brings you here?”

Harvey looked at her, a softness in his eyes, “I just finished work, so I dropped by.”

Eloise wanted to chat with him outside.

But Michelle came out, just in time to see Harvey.

“Harvey, you're here!”

Seizing the opportunity, Harvey stepped in, elegantly placed his gift on the foyer table, then smoothly handed his coat to Eloise.

“Been swamped with work at the firm, otherwise, I would've come to see you guys sooner.”

Michelle beamed, “The important thing is that you're here, no need for gifts!”

Harvey glanced at Eloise and said, “It's the least I could do.”

Michelle caught the underlying meaning. She subtly glanced at Angus, hinting at him to say something.

Angus got it, too.

Harvey was seriously interested in Eloise. However, their parents hadn't met yet. It wasn't etiquette to have dinner at either family's house.

Chuckling, Angus said, “End of the year is always crazy busy! Eloise, be a good host to Harvey, but don't keep him too long, he's gotta have dinner at home.”

While preparing coffee, Michelle reminded Eloise, “Give the property management a call, ask them where the plumber is?”

Eloise didn't really want to deal with Harvey at that moment, so she decided to go back to her room to make the call.

But Harvey said, “No need to bother them, I'll fix it.”

Michelle laughed, “Harvey, you can do this? Don't get your clothes dirty though.”

“No worries.”

……

Harvey rolled up his sleeves, grabbed the tools, and got to work.

Michelle sent Eloise to help.

In the cramped kitchen, the door was closed.

Eloise crouched next to Harvey, watching his adept movements, she was surprised, “Didn’t know you could do this!”

Harvey looked at her with deep eyes, chuckled, “There's a lot you don't know about me!”

Eloise blushed.

This man was not serious! Harvey wasn't exaggerating though, he fixed the pipes with a steady hand. It was fixed in a couple of clicks.

They say men are most attractive when they're working. Eloise hadn't experienced it before but now, as she was beside him, looking at his handsome side profile, she felt a bit of a flutter.

Harvey packed up the tools, turned his head to look at her, with a teasing smile.
