Eloise was feeling super embarrassed. But Harvey didn't give a hoot. He insisted on making Eloise drink a whole glass of water before turning to chat with the old doctor. "Eloise got dragged into this mess by Orlena. Taking care of her is my duty."
Upon hearing this, Dr. Huffman chuckled. "Oh, is that so? You're really quick to change roles!"
After checking Eloise, Dr. Huffman confirmed there was nothing seriously wrong with her. He then gave a cheeky grin. "With Harvey personally taking care of you, you'll be back on your feet in no time."
By this point, Eloise's face was as red as a tomato!
Dr. Huffman walked away laughing.
Eloise wanted to give Michelle a call, but Harvey said, "I've already got you some time off. I also told that lady you had some sudden work stuff and had to be out of town for a few days."
Eloise was at a loss for words. Harvey, oblivious to her displeased expression, casually said, "I've already ordered an assistant to bring food."
Eloise could hold it in no longer. She asked Harvey, "Are you afraid I'll mess up your sister's happiness?"
Harvey, leaning against the bedside table and texting his assistant, chuckled at her question. "What are you planning to use to mess it up? Your body? Or that painful old love affair? I thought Max had made his choice. Haven't you figured that out yet?"
He might have been a looker, but his words were ruthless, causing Eloise's budding affection for him to vanish instantly. She turned away from him on purpose.
Harvey, legs crossed, silently watched Eloise on the bed and grinned. Seemed like she was pissed!
Around half an hour later, Harvey's secretary brought dinner.
The secretary, recognizing Eloise from the law firm, was surprised. She thought it was a one-sided pursuit, but Harvey seemed to be really into her, personally caring for her and even pulling strings to help her. It was full-on, all-around care.
