Eloise's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she pushed him away. "No, not happening!"
Unable to sleep any longer, she got out of bed to change her clothes in the walk-in closet.
Harvey followed her in.
They had been married once, and he had seen her countless times in various states of dress. Eloise didn't care anymore. As she slipped on her sweater, he wrapped his arms around her from behind. In a low voice, he said, "Eloise, you're still holding a grudge against me, aren't you?"
Eloise didn't deny it. Some things indeed weren't easy to forget. In a soft voice, she said, "Harvey, we both need time."
He hummed in agreement, which was a much better response than she'd gotten from him before. He didn't try anything with her now, because she was not just the woman he wanted, but also Linda's mother.
Certain things had to wait for the right time.
Just then, Harvey's mobile rang. It was a call from Parker. Harvey held Eloise's waist with one hand and answered the call with the other. "Dad?"
Parker didn't sound too happy. "Harvey, bring Eloise home."
Before Harvey could ask why, Parker asked him to hand the phone to Eloise. After a brief conversation, Eloise nodded. "Alright, we'll be there soon."
After hanging up, Harvey asked, "What did he say?"
In a low voice, Eloise replied, "The Lynch family is making a scene. They insist that I check if I’m a match for Griffin’s bone marrow donation."
Harvey was furious. Not only was Eloise not a match for Griffin, but even if she were, were they expecting her to donate her bone marrow?
Seeing Harvey's expression, Eloise chuckled. "What's the matter? You seem to have a problem with Griffin now."
Harvey removed his bathrobe and changed into a shirt and trousers in front of Eloise, explaining as he did so, "You'll find out when we get there. It's all rather unpleasant. Dad and Griffin aren't on good terms anymore."
Eloise could tell there was more to it.
...
The three of them returned to the Horigan residence. As they entered, they saw Jane throwing a tantrum, with Diana and Joan also present.
Jane was crying and shouting, "If it hadn't been for Griffin saving Orlena, he wouldn't be infertile now. He's sick, and he wants Eloise to be a match for a transplant. You're all reluctant to help. That's heartless!"
Harvey handed Linda to Eloise. With a cold expression, he retorted, "Why don't you go to the Noland family for help?"
The Noland family? The mention of Brett made Jane's face stiffen.
