Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 259

A couple of days later, Linda was discharged from the hospital.

Parker hosted a family banquet, and he casually mentioned it to Brett, who was on a business trip in Peterborough. To his surprise, Brett actually showed up.

He brought a toy for Daniel. However, Daniel was not familiar with him and clung to Orlena, blushing shyly.

Brett felt a bit disappointed. He looked at Orlena, with a meaningful look in his eyes, "You should mention me more often; that kid treats me like a stranger."

Pauline chuckled from the side, "Just spend more time with him. Daniel is very well-behaved."

Parker, on the other hand, was very generous. He invited Brett to sit down and have a drink with him, with Harvey keeping them company.

Brett was not a fool. Parker, this cunning old fox, had graciously accepted the fact that he and Orlena had a child. This was not just for the sake of Eloise, but more so for the resources of Brockville.

Brett, who had the power to access these resources with just a signature and a few words, was willing to compensate. He found himself being persuaded to drink by the Horigan father and son at the dinner table, and realized it had been over a decade since he got drunk.

That was right. Who would dare to persuade Mr. Brett to drink? Whenever he attended social events, his secretary or assistant would always take the drink for him. When did he ever drink personally?

When Brett was leaving, Eloise escorted him to his car. As she watched the car drive away, she returned to her own vehicle, where Harvey was waiting for her.

He was leaning against the car, smoking quietly with his head slightly tilted back. His posture was elegant and attractive. Eloise approached him, with a playful smile on her face, "You and Parker worked really well together. Uncle Brett must have drunk almost half a bottle."

Harvey gave her a sidelong glance and chuckled, "You are worried about him?"

He pinched her cheek, "No worrying about other men. Not even for your uncle."

Eloise knew Harvey was always a bit jealous, especially of other men, but she didn't mind. She opened the car door and invited him in, "Let's go home. Linda is staying here tonight. We can come pick her up tomorrow night."

Harvey wrapped his arm around her slender waist, whispering, "That was arranged by mom and dad. They want us to have some alone time. Eloise, shall we try for another baby tonight?"

Eloise sighed. Their driver was still in the car, and Harvey was making such bold suggestions. She whispered, "Harvey, you're drunk."

He helped her into the car, but he wasn't behaving himself. His gentle hand traced the line of her leg, gently massaging the back of her foot.

Eloise's heart raced. In the dim car, there was only the sound of their breathing and the masculine scent of Harvey. She thought he was taking advantage of her. But after a while, he leaned on her shoulder and asked softly, "Were you scared the last time you drove?"

Her foot had been injured before and there was a possibility that she might have lost control of the brakes, causing them to crash. Even after all these days, Harvey was still a bit scared.

Eloise felt warmth in her heart. She tilted her head and gave him a quick peck on his handsome nose, "I didn't think about that at the time."

Harvey let go of her foot. He lay down on her lap, gently holding her by the waist. Eloise had been with him for several years and had never seen him in such a vulnerable state. She couldn't help but reach out and trace his handsome face. Harvey was looking up at her.

At that moment, their feelings for each other were so equal.

Eloise did something she had never dared to do before. Even with the driver in front of them, she couldn't help but kiss him. She gently licked into his mouth.

Harvey couldn't resist, he wrapped his arm around her neck, deepening the kiss. The driver was in front, so everything was done secretly, which made it even more exciting.

As their passions flared, he teased her, "Eloise, you've become naughty."

"Do you like it?"

"I love it."
