Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 275

In the early morning, Linda awoke Harvey from his slumber. The moment he opened his eyes, he found a little curly-haired girl perched on his chest, whining, "Daddy, I need to go to the bathroom!"

Harvey shielded his eyes with his arm, not ready to face the morning light, but he couldn't ignore his own child. Grumbling, he sat up to help Linda out of her onesie, asking, "Where's your mom?"

Linda's eyes sparkled. "Mom is making breakfast for me!"

Making breakfast? Did the Horigan family really need their matriarch to cook breakfast? Had she become that industrious?

Harvey was somewhat lost in thought, and his unfamiliarity with the task at hand meant he was a little slow. By the time he came back to reality, Linda had already started crying. The crotch of her onesie was warm and wet.

A few droplets of warmth spilled onto him. Linda looked mortified! Her adorable little face was crumpled, and she was crying her little heart out.

Eloise came upstairs from the kitchen, surprised to see Linda had wet herself, but she quickly scooped Linda up, comforting her. With her mother's gentle touch, Linda stopped crying.

Eloise fetched her some clean clothes, and Linda quickly stripped off her wet clothes, revealing her small body and oversized head.

Adorable...

Harvey sat up. "If she can undress herself, why did I have to do it? Then she wouldn't have wet herself!"

It took Eloise a while to respond, "You took care of her until she was three. She's capable of many things, but she hasn't seen you in a few days. She misses you and wants your attention..."

But Harvey had forgotten... Not only had he forgotten his love for her, but also how to pamper Linda.

Once Eloise finished speaking, she went to the bathroom to draw a bath for Linda. When she returned, she cleaned up the mess on the bed and the floor.

Harvey watched Eloise in silence. She truly embodied the image of a homemaker. Her demeanor was soft and tender. He thought to himself that if he ever desired a domestic lifestyle, he would easily accept her. But he loathed the idea of married life. He felt shackled!

Harvey cleaned himself up, got dressed, and then leisurely descended the stairs.

Downstairs, Parker gave his son a glance. The man was dressed to the nines, looking every bit the successful attorney, but the sight of his son in his prime only ruffled Parker's feathers. He much preferred the sight of his soft, adorable grandchildren.

Linda, now in a pretty little dress, sat at the dining table, diligently tucking into her breakfast. Noticing Harvey's descent, she declared, "I forgive you for earlier!"

Linda tilted her head. "I'm willing to give you a chance to make it up to me!"

Harvey sat next to her, sipping his coffee. "How can I make it up to you?"

"Take me to preschool! Mom and Dad both have to take me."

Harvey turned to Eloise, lowering his voice. "Did you put her up to this?"

Eloise was slightly annoyed. She admitted, "Yes! But you don't have to go!"

Harvey chuckled. "Mrs. Horigan, with all your plotting, how can I not satisfy you?" He even had the audacity to gently stroke her soft cheek. It was so soft, so smooth! He thought to himself that the best part of this marriage was that Eloise was entirely his type.

Parker watched his son's frivolous behavior, fuming, "Speak respectfully to your wife. Don't be so handsy! Eloise is your lawfully wedded wife, not some floozy you picked up. Show some respect!"

Harvey just smiled. Without retorting, he dutifully took Linda to preschool and even kindly dropped Eloise back at the villa, but he didn't go in.

Eloise wasn't foolish. She didn't expect him to suddenly start playing house. She remembered that he used to be quite a player and was not one to shy away from the social scene.

As Eloise got out of the car, Harvey stayed in the car with the window rolled down, lighting a cigarette. Eloise gently asked, "Will you be home tonight?"

Harvey rested his elbow on the car window, leisurely puffing on his cigarette. At her question, he chuckled. "If I don't come home, are you going to tattle to my dad and force us to share a bed?"
