The girl was staring at Max.
Max shielded his eyes with his elbow, his voice raspy as he said, “Get out!”
What a total embarrassment he was!
How did he end up in such a mortifying situation?
The girl's face was wet with tears as she slowly straightened her clothes.
Her legs were shaking so badly as she stood up from the sofa that she could barely stand. Yet, she didn't dare to upset him, holding back her emotions as she walked out of the private room.
As soon as she closed the door, the sound of shattering glass echoed from inside, followed by a howl like a wounded animal.
She thought even such a brute of a man could be deeply sentimental. That girl named Eloise must be so lucky to be loved by Mr. Velona.
The manager rushed over when he heard the commotion. Seeing the girl in such a state, he scolded her, “What the hell did you do to Mr. Velona?”
The girl's lips were nearly bleeding from her biting them.
She hugged herself as if it would protect her and said with a trembling voice, “Mr. Velona mistook me for someone else. I told him I wasn't her, and he just blew up.”
The manager looked impatient. He glanced at the private room's door and lectured the girl, “What's the big deal? Even if Mr. Velona mistook you for someone else, even if he mistook you for a garlic bulb, you've still got to put up with it and compliment his good taste! If you wanna make money here, you gotta make the customers happy!”
The girl lowered her head, not daring to argue.
The manager wanted her to apologize to Max, but then a customer came over asking for her specifically. Considering all customers were important, he sent the girl to entertain the new customer.
After sorting out the girl, the manager went to apologize to Max.
As he opened the door, the heavy smell of alcohol hit him like a wall.
The floor was littered with shards of glass and expensive red wine. It made the manager heartache!
Max had already popped open two more bottles of wine.
Seeing the manager, he barely lifted his head, picked up his glass, and drained it in one go, drinking like a man possessed.
