When Harvey got back to the apartment, it was already 3 in the morning.
He cracked open the door, and a warm yellow light spilled out from the bedroom, adding a touch of warmth to the cold luxury decor.
Harvey stepped inside.
Eloise was a light sleeper, and she woke up the moment he entered. Sitting up and leaning against the headboard, her voice still husky from sleep, she asked, "Hungry for some late-night snack?"
"Too late for that. I'm going to hit the shower."
Eloise found this odd. Hadn't he showered outside? Could it be?
Seeing her eyes sparkle with curiosity, Harvey bent down to kiss her, "What's on your mind? Do you really think I've got the energy to mess around? You've got me all tied up."
Eloise turned red and didn't pursue the matter.
Harvey stripped and entered the bathroom, casually tossing his white shirt onto the floor. Eloise picked it up and put it in the laundry basket for washing the next day.
Suddenly, she froze.
There were bloodstains on the shirt. Eloise sniffed it. There was a faint smell of blood.
She looked towards the bathroom, furrowing her brows. Had Harvey been out fighting?
Smart as she was, Eloise immediately thought of Max's odd behaviour tonight. She guessed it had something to do with him.
She gently put down the shirt and climbed back into bed.
When Harvey came out, he was wearing a black bathrobe, damp all over.
He hugged Eloise from behind, slowly exploring her body, holding up her head with one hand and kissing her. The position was uncomfortable, but for some reason, Eloise was unusually submissive.
She could tell his mood was a bit off.
Harvey pinned Eloise underneath him, his eyes deep and dark.
He did nothing, he just stared at her.
