Facing that bright and adorable face, Eloise just couldn't bring herself to dislike her.
Deep down, though, she knew it was probably because she liked Harvey, which made her more forgiving towards Orlena.
This thought made Eloise feel embarrassed, and she involuntarily glanced at Harvey.
Feeling her gaze, Harvey was very angry.
Was she really thinking about being with Max? Even bringing him home?
Harvey looked at Max.
Being a guy himself, Max quickly sensed his discontent. He smirked slightly, pretending to ask politely, "Am I causing trouble here?"
Harvey chuckled, wrapping his arm gently around Eloise's waist, "Not at all!"
Eloise didn't expect him to agree. She couldn't help but whisper when they were alone, "Are you sure?"
Harvey stared at her, speaking slowly, "I thought you were happy to see him. Weren't you guys having a great chat?"
Eloise guessed he might have misunderstood, which was why he was mocking her, but she didn't explain.
He knew about her past with Max, and if seeing them together in public made him uncomfortable, there was nothing she could do about it.
However, she felt a little aggrieved, her eyes reddening slightly.
Griffin happened to see this and walked over, chuckling, "Did you guys have a fight? Harvey, you're a man. You should be gentle to girls. She's a spoiled darling at home. How could you let her feel aggrieved here?" He patted Harvey, "You need to chill out a bit."
Harvey held a lot of respect for him and nodded his head.
Griffin had other guests to entertain, so he went to take care of them, leaving with a meaningful remark to Eloise, "Not many people can get Harvey upset."
Having taken a big tumble with Max before, Eloise was no longer scared. She just smiled gracefully.
