“Come sit; we’re discussing an important matter,” Brody patted the space beside him for me to sit. His left side was reserved for Janet, who had swollen eyes, as if she had been crying since he brought me into the main mansion with my babies.

“That is not why I don’t want her gone,” he quickly adjusted his jacket and corrected the old man. “I just don’t like my Luna going there. They were not very nice to her when she was living there. I wouldn’t want her to go back there again,” he explained, almost choking me with his reasoning. 

Everyone watched me as I tried my best to hold back my laughter. The situation was so amusing that I kept breaking character here and there. 

“Anyway, I think if it helps us, it should be no problem,” Janet quickly jumped in, seemingly eager to smooth over the discomfort between her mate and me, whom she had only known as a slave until now.
