Luis did not do as well in Biology and French as he did in other subjects. In the midterm exam, his biology and French were a bit at a disadvantage.
Torey had a good balance in every subject. He ranked second in the midterm exam, but his score was lower than Luis's by 10 points, which made him depressed.
When Alexa took Alison to find Torey, Torey was indeed upset at his scores.
Alexa went through the back door of Class No. 1 and found Torey. She patted his shoulder. "Don’t be upset! Alison turned down Luis and came to you to work on the problems in the math paper. What are you so unhappy about?"
Hearing Alexa's words, Torey immediately perked up, his eyes lighting up. "Really?"
"Why would I lie to you? Luis just got pissed off at Alison. If you don't believe me, ask Alison!"
Torey knew he was no match for Luis, but Alexa's words gave him some confidence anyway.
What's more, Alexa and Alison both did well in math in this midterm exam, and Torey was so happy. He was dedicated to helping the two girls in their math for a period of time. He was literally their mentor now.
Now that his "students" had done well, Torey was proud.
Alexa's reassurance cheered Torey up. He grabbed his math paper and followed Alexa out of the classroom.
Half an hour later, Alison and Alexa walked out of the building.
Alison didn’t understand the last question of the math paper, as Torey's method was a bit complicated, so she was thinking about that question all the way. When they reached the school gate, a boy’s familiar voice called out, "Alison!"
Both Alison and Alexa were startled.
Looking in the direction of the voice, Alexa saw a tall boy in a loose school uniform sitting on the fence at the school entrance.
The boy had a lollipop in his mouth. He looked cute. But he wore his school uniform so casually that it made him look like a punk.
