It took Alison over an hour to work out the two exercises. When she came out of Luis's room, Alexis came up and asked them to go downstairs for the meal.
Luis did have an appointment in the afternoon, with Zion and Benny.
In the meantime, Alison stayed at home and studied French. It wasn't very hard work so she had a casual chat on the phone with Alexa at the same time, and ended up asleep with her phone in her hand.
When she woke up, it was nearly five o’clock. After getting her face washed to freshen up, she took the book to the balcony and did some poem reciting.
Gentle breezes kissed things on the balcony from time to time, and Alison found it rather cozy studying on the deck chair there.
In the municipal basketball court.
Luis's final three-pointer wrapped up the game, and his team won.
Benny breathed a sigh of relief. Their opponents this time were not easy to deal with. It was hard for both Luis and Zion to shoot, for each of them got two defenders to stop them.
The truth was, apart from Luis and Zion, three other players in their team, including Benny, were not very skillful. They did some warm-up and just threw themselves in the game. It could be said that the other two players were here to fill out the numbers.
But their opponents were different. Five of them were from the same school team, with two of them playing for the city team at the same time. Having practiced and played for over a year, the whole team could cooperate more tacitly than Luis’s team.
It was fair to say that Luis's team won the game relying on the good teamwork between Luis and Zion, and they won it narrowly. They were still two points behind before Luis shot his three-pointer. In fact, Benny was prepared to welcome their failure as the countdown drew near.
Luis's decisive shot was beyond everyone's expectations. And it was a three-pointer that sealed the game.
Benny jumped with joy when the whistle went for the end of the game. He ran to Luis and wanted to give him a hug, but was pushed ruthlessly away by the hero. "Back off," added Luis.
Luis was all covered with sweat and felt too hot to stand someone getting near him.
The first thing he did after he walked off the pitch was grabbing a bottle of water and drinking it in one gulp.
Zion approached him, "How about having dinner together tonight?"
Luis looked away and refused, "You can go with Benny."
