Luis looked around the small living room. Then, Alison came out of the doorway. She was holding a basin of water and towels. " Luis, wait a moment. I'll be able to wipe it off soon."
Luis threw the two backpacks on his back onto that wooden chair. "Do you have any more cleaning cloth?"
Alison was stunned for a moment. Then, she said, "I'll wipe. The room hasn’t been cleaned for almost a year, so it's pretty dirty."
"Where's the cleaning cloth?" Luis asked again.
Alison had to point ahead and say, "There's
a little well in there. There’s one next to it."
Before she could finish her words, Luis was already heading inside.
Soon, he carried a bucket of water straight out. And some water splashed on the ground.
The floor was made of red bricks. Because the room had not been cleaned, when he poured the water out, he saw a layer of dust floating on the water's surface.
Luis was a bit of a clean freak. He frowned as he looked at the dust on the surface of the water.
Alison looked at him and said, "Luis, what are you..."
Hearing her words, Luis gave her a look. Then he picked up the broom and swept the water out of the yard.
He carried many buckets of water back and forth and swept the water that had poured on the ground many times. Finally, he washed the mop and mopped the entire floor of the house.
By the time the two of them had cleaned up the house, it was almost five in the afternoon.
When Alison saw the time, she went to her grandmother's room to retrieve the box." Luis, I got my stuff. Let's go back."
She had wanted to visit her grandmother's grave, but Luis came with her. And Alison knew Luis wasn't used to living here, so she had no intention of staying overnight.
