He didn't answer her question and asked her a question unrelated to hers.
Scarlett didn't want to talk to him, keeping silent.
Just after they crossed the road, a cup of milk tea was pressed in Scarlett's hand.
"I don't want to drink it."
She directly returned it to Raymond. She had little interest in milk tea. Moreover, it was given by Raymond. She wouldn't drink it.
"It can warm your hands."
Raymond didn't take it. Scarlett stopped and held the milk tea out to Raymond. He still didn't take it.
A couple walked past. Scarlett walked to the girl with a smile. "Hi, here's a cup of milk tea. You can use it to warm your hands."
Scarlett was pretty. Her eyes crinkled while she was smiling. The couple was stunned.
They wondered if the milk tea store hired this pretty lady to attract customers.
Before leaving, Scarlett added, "The milk tea is unopened. You can drink it."
After that, Scarlett gently nodded, glanced at Raymond, and passed by him.
Raymond didn't care at all, following her.
Scarlett laughed with annoyance. She stopped and looked up at him on the crowded sidewalk. "Raymond, what do you want?"
"To accompany you."
"No need."
She flatly refused. After so long, she didn't change her mind. She was more patient and better at controlling herself than before.
She didn't seem to be angry with him anymore. She was indifferent to him.
Raymond felt depressed. The winter wind was very cold, and so was his heart.
He was not a very patient person, but he pursued Scarlett with great patience. However, she wasn't swayed by what he did.
