Scarlett looked at Raymond. The smile on her face faded. "I don't need you to do this for me."
She could do it herself without help from anyone else.
"I just want to help you."
Raymond sensed Scarlett's indifference. He pursed his thin lips with resignation.
She had tightly closed the door to her heart. It had been more than eight months since they were divorced, but he still couldn't melt her heart.
She seemed to have no feelings for him anymore.
Raymond felt as his heart was pricked. He was sad but didn't give up. He looked up at Scarlett stubbornly.
He didn't know Scarlett well, but during the eight months after the divorce, he gradually found that she was not hard-hearted; she was just protecting herself. He needed some time to win her heart back.
She spent three years trying to get closer to him. He wouldn't give up after pursing her for only eight months.
What was more, he couldn't let her go.
"But I don't want you to help me."
They were both stubborn. There was an awkward silence, but no one gave in.
Raymond could give in on anything but this one.
Scarlett didn't intend to force Raymond or argue with him because that would make her unhappy.
They were deadlocked for a moment. Scarlett moved." How much did you pay for the bracelet?"
Raymond glanced at her. "I bought it at the original price."
Scarlett knew that it was not the price at which Kyleigh sold the bracelet.
She smiled. "Can you lend me your phone?"
Raymond took out his cell phone and handed it to her.
