Alexander did a double-take. He nodded. "Yes, yes, we need a fourth player! Come over here!"
He hurriedly pulled Stephen and Jake, who sat there listlessly. "Don't you want to play cards? Now that we're all here, hurry up and begin!"
Alexander winked at them. Scarlett stood by and watched, feeling sorry for his handsome face.
The card room was clean. There was no smell of alcohol or tobacco. The window was open, and it was raining outside, so the air was fresh.
Scarlett took a seat, unhurriedly taking out her phone. "How much will the loser pay?"
Alexander just wanted to keep Scarlett here. They used to win or lose thousands of dollars at cards. If he told Scarlett the truth, she might directly go away.
He thought for a moment and held up a finger. "Just one... Ten dollars."
Scarlett curved her lips and grunted.
Half an hour later, Alexander looked at the pile of chips in front of Scarlett, feeling scared. If he had said "a hundred dollars", he would have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars to Scarlett.
Scarlett had won three times in four rounds. They almost lost 10,000 dollars to her.
Alexander was not worried about money. He just felt h e was unlucky tonight.
He was just trying to keep her here at first, but he became serious while playing with her.
After another half hour, Scarlett had won more than 20,000 dollars.
She glanced at Alexander, who looked very frustrated. She intended to give him a card and then leave.
However, just as she was about to do so, someone reached out his big hand and put back the card, replacing it with another. "Discard this one."
Scarlett was stunned, not knowing when Raymond came in.
Meeting her gaze, Raymond blinked. "Do as you like."
Alexander glared at Raymond. "Raymond, you're cheating! Why are you helping her?"
There were other people here. Scarlett couldn't say anything. She threw the original card.
"Huh! I won!"
