"Well, then what can I do for you?"
Scarlett looked at Raymond with a smile," Thanks, but you don’t have to help me."
After a little pause, she said, "You must be pleased to hear that the reason why I chose this university is you, right?"
It was for him that she came to Juanton City in the first place.
Raymond looked at her fondly, "To be honest, I feel more sorry for you."
He held her hand as he spoke.
Scarlett gave a little laugh, "It was my choice, and I had no regrets about that."
Things didn't always work out exactly as planned. If she hadn't come to Juanton City at that time, she wouldn't know what the ending would have been. Though regret was temporary and pity would last a lifetime, she was willing to pay for her impulse.
Raymond said nothing and held her hand more tightly.
They soon arrived at the Mornet Corporation, and Scarlett got out of the car.
She went to her office and called Katherine.
Katherine soon knocked on the door of Scarlett's office, "What can I do for you, Ms. Reed?"
Scarlett looked up at her, "Come in, Secretary Lawrence. Well, I need you to find out what happened to my college classmate Linley these last few years, and...
She paused as she spoke, "Investigate in detail what happened in my senior year."
Darnell, who had pursued Scarlett fruitlessly for three years, planned to drug her and rape her on her birthday that year. However, Linley overheard Darnell calling someone about his plan and then told Scarlett about his scheme so that Scarlett dodged a bullet. And Scarlett later sent him to prison.
Scarlett then asked Katherine to arrange Linley's internship in the Mornet Corporation, but Linley refused, saying that she was not in good health and would go back to the countryside to recuperate.
Scarlett did not force her but asked Katherine to send her some presents, and after that, she paid no attention to Linley.
Jane always hated Scarlett. However, Jane’s words were a clear sign that something had happened to Linley.
In Scarlett’s memory, Linley was a lively and energetic girl. How did she get depressed?
