Flirting With My Ex-husband novel Chapter 506

Scarlett had not come here to make trouble. She was mainly here to see Jane and the one that had gone with Jane to meet Linley the other day.

In addition, it could be said that most boys in the class had had a sneaking affection for Scarlett when they were in college. It was true that they had called Jane the prettiest girl in the class, but nothing overshadows what you cannot have.

In their eyes, Scarlett was like an unapproachable princess that no man was worthy of.

Although Scarlett had gotten involved in many unpleasant things during their last year of college, and her divorce last year had also made her something of a laughing stock, none of those things had changed the fact that she was all her male classmates’ dream girl.

After a few moments' stand-off, someone felt sympathy for Scarlett and stuck up for her. "Martin, you’re going too far. This is a class reunion. Stop acting like we're your employees."

Everybody present had a degree in Finance from Juanton University. It had been five years since their graduation, and they were now all well established in their careers.

None of them had as much as 100 million dollars, but they did have one tenth of that amount.

Everybody present was among the elite of her classmates, and none of them relied on Martin for survival, so they, naturally, had nothing to fear from Martin.

Jane glanced at Scarlett. "Keep your shirt on, Martin. It's totally unnecessary to get so worked up. You know who Scarlett is. She's a celebrity in our college. Only days ago they invited her to be a member of the panel as an outstanding alumna. She has every reason to think she’s out of your league!"

Originally, Martin had indeed felt it unnecessary to escalate the situation, but after Jane made those remarks, Martin found himself unable to take it lying down.

He thought, 'What's the big deal with her? Her only achievement is a shabby entertainment company, isn't it? Surely she's not a billionaire?’

With a half smile, Scarlett slid a sideways glance at Jane who was adding fuel to the flames of Martin’s anger, reached out her hand and unhurriedly picked up a cigar. The cigar had been clipped already, which spared her the trouble of clipping it.

She held the cigar between her fingers. The brown cigar set off the fairness of her hand which was as white as jade. She lightly clamped the cigar between her teeth.

Then Scarlett picked up a matchbox, struck a match and raised it to deliberately light her cigar.

She stood there in a leisurely manner, her rosy lip sagging slightly under the weight of the cigar, her slender snow-white neck erect. She really didn't lower her head.
