Katherine didn't anticipate that Jane had such a video. Katherine was shocked at Scarlett’s words. After a moment she came to her sense and nodded, "I see, Ms. Reed."
Scarlett nodded, "Thank you, Katherine."
The look on Scarlett's face was still sullen. The video Jane had shown to her had really irritated Scarlett. She had thought to leave Jane a chance. But since Jane had gone way out of bounds, she should not blame Scarlett for showing no mercy for her.
Scarlett glanced at the coffee on the desk and compressed her lips. Then she took out her cell phone and called Linley.
Linley was getting fairly better. She would be discharged from the hospital this Friday.
Hanging up the phone, Scarlett's mood had calmed down. She went on to look over the papers and sign her name on the papers.
Raymond’s fund arrived while they were having dinner, and Scarlett received a message from Katherine. She looked up at Raymond who was sitting across from her and smiled, "We have received the money."
Then she paused, "You're not afraid I'll run off with the money?”
Raymond put a plucked shrimp into her plate, "Would you?"
Scarlett raised an eyebrow, "Maybe."
Raymond glanced at her, "You can keep the money, but you can’t run away from me."
Scarlett couldn't help but laugh at
Raymond's words, "OK, I'll keep the money for you."
After dinner, the two went straight back to the villa. Scarlett took a phone call. When she turned around after the call, Raymond had brought a plate of watermelon and placed it on the table.
Scarlett smiled. She walked over and picked up a piece of watermelon and took a bite, "Where did you get all this money?"
Raymond took a paper towel and wiped his hands clean of the watermelon juice, "I started a company in college."
Raymond had gone to college abroad, so Scarlett didn't know much about his college years.
