It was still raining. When the traffic lights turned red, Scarlett stopped the car.
She looked at the rain and fog outside the window. Meanwhile, Alexander’s words were echoing in her ears.
Scarlett was lost in thought until the lights changed to green and the drivers behind sounded their horns. She stepped on the gas and started the car.
Fifteen minutes later, she parked her car outside Raymond's apartment building.
This was the first time Scarlett had come here. After she and Raymond got married, Raymond had hardly stayed at the Shaw Residence. He always lived in this
downtown apartment.
She didn't have the key card or the password.
It was a luxury apartment building. Before she could get in, Scarlett was stopped by the guards.
"Hello, Miss. You don't seem to live here."
Scarlett shook her head. "My boyfriend is the owner of the apartment 2803."
Hearing this, the guard froze. "That's Mr. Shaw's apartment. He had an accident six months ago. Miss, according to our rules, I can’t let you in."
Scarlett didn't say anything. She stepped aside and called Frank.
Frank was a little surprised. After following Scarlett for more than half a year, Frank knew that Scarlett had drawn a clear line between work and private life.
Scarlett didn't have any work this evening. Normally, Scarlett wouldn't contact him in this case.
Yet now he received a call from Scarlett.
Frank subconsciously thought that something had happened to Scarlett, so he was worried. "Good evening, Ms. Reed."
"Good evening, Frank. I'm outside Raymond's apartment building. The guards don't let me in. Can you help me?"
Hearing this, Frank did a double-take and hurriedly answered, "Ms. Reed, can you give your phone to the guard?"
Scarlett smiled and handed her phone to the guard beside her. "Hello, my friend wants to talk to you. Could you please answer the phone?"
Scarlett was not only good-looking but also polite. She was calm although the guards refused to let her in. The guard was taken aback when he heard Scarlett's words. He hastily took the phone. "Hello, I’m the guard.”
"I'm Frank, Mr. Shaw's secretary. You should have recorded my phone number. The owner of this phone is Mr. Shaw's girlfriend. She forgot the key card. Please let her in."
