Scarlett nodded her head, "Thanks."
Joseph glanced behind Scarlett and then asked, "Ms. Reed, didn't you bring any luggage?"
"No.”
Joseph seemed to want to say something else, but Scarlett interrupted him, "Let's go straight to the hospital."
Hearing Scarlett's words, Joseph didn't say anything else. He led Scarlett to the parking lot. The car drove out of the airport and headed straight for the hospital.
An hour later, the car arrived at the hospital.
Scarlett didn't know where Chloe’s room was, so Joeseph led her there.
When Scarlett arrived at Chloe's room, Chris was already there.
Chloe's secretary was standing outside the ward. The secretary was surprised to see Scarlett, "Ms. Reed?"
Scarlett nodded to her, "Secretary Emerson, how is Ms. Wilson doing?"
The secretary shook her head, "Ms. Wilson was awake this morning, but she can't speak now. The doctor just gave her a shot of morphine. The doctor said it should be one of these days."
Scarlett felt so sorry. The secretary then asked, "Ms. Reed, you must be tired from the travel. Have you had lunch? Do you need to get some rest?"
Scarlett shook her head. She did feel tired, but she had no appetite, let alone rest and sleep.
"Let me see Ms. Wilson first."
"OK."
Scarlett walked into the room and saw Chris standing by his mother's bed.
Chris heard the door open, he turned around and saw Scarlett. His dark eyes flickered. He asked, "Have you had lunch?"
Scarlett shook her head. She walked to him and checked on Chloe who was lying in the bed.
It had just been a month. The day Scarlett left, she met Chloe at the airport. Chloe then had exquisite make-up on her face and a delicate dress on her body. She looked so elegant. She didn't look like a 60-year-old woman at all.
But now, Chloe was lying on the hospital bed, her face as haggard as a dead leaf, her eyes cloudy and lax.
Noticing Scarlett’s gaze, Chloe's rolled her eyes. With difficulty, she turned her eyes to Scarlett.
