Chapter 10
Our wedding transformed the ancestral Blackwood estate into a fairytale – Cartier diamonds dripping from crystal chandeliers, rare orchids cascading from centuries–old stone walls.
Castro and Oriana also arrived, invited guests under close surveillance.
Castro, still in his cast, leaned on Oriana while security guards watched their every move.
“Why invite them?” I whispered to Alexander.
His lips curved into that dangerous smile. “Better to keep your enemies where you can see them, darling.”
“You magnificent sadist,” William muttered, though his grin matched Alexander’s.
During our vows, chaos erupted. Castro shoved Oriana with surprising violence – her head caught the corner of a table, blood staining her pale silk Valentino.
He didn’t spare her a glance, just as he’d ignored my scalded skin that night, too consumed by his
obsession.
When he lunged forward, security moved with practiced efficiency, their suits rippling as they restrained him. The cathedral bells drowned his muffled protests in waves of joyous sound.
After the ceremony, I approached them. Looking at Oriana’s devastated face, I asked softly, “Tell me now – do we really share such a resemblance?”
She laughed through tears. “It doesn’t matter. He never truly loved either of us.”
“Lies!” Castro’s cultured facade cracked entirely. “You were my past, but Aveline – Aveline is my everything now. You destroyed it all by returning!”
“Enough delusions, Castro,” I said, my voice gentle but firm. “I found your study. I saw everything.”
He collapsed into himself like a dying star, finally silenced.
Alexander guided me away, his lips brushing my ear with wicked promises about our wedding night. I feigned outrage, but melted when he captured my lips in a possessive kiss.
The aftermath unfolded like a Greek tragedy. Castro’s obsession turned to cruel revenge agains systematically destroying her career and reputation until something in her snapped.
riana,
She rammed his Mercedes with her car, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. When the Harrison family unleashed their legal hounds, she jumped from the Harrison Industries tower.
