Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love novel Chapter 209

"Jay, your wife is pregnant with your child. Can you stop gossiping about others and instead take care of your wife?¹' Charles spoke, puffing the last smoke before putting out the cigarette.

"Of course! My wife is my baby now!” With a smile, Jay ran to Doris and said, "Honey, you didn't drink, did you?"

"I did. So what?" With brows knitted, Doris acted coquettishly.

"Well, it's good to drink some. Ha-ha!" As soon as he heard what Doris said, he immediately held her. Now that he understood her personality better, Jay was more confident in dealing with her.

If he were not to piss her off, then the two could get by in a day without fighting like cats and dogs.

"Nancy, we are leaving now." Doris rolled down the window and expressed.

"Alright, take care." Smiling, Nancy waved her hand.

Then without saying anything further, Jay drove away.

"Honey, shall we go home too?" Charles suddenly asked as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Why didn't you stay at home with the children? Why are you here?" Nancy couldn't help smiling as she felt his embrace on her.

"Well, I'm also afraid that my wife will be taken away from me, so I came here," Charles responded with a smile and opened the front seat door.

"You've learned a lot from Jay, huh." Nancy got in, still wearing a grin while fastening her seatbelt.

"Yes, as long as my wife likes it." With those flirtatious words, Charles went around the car and settled himself on the driver’s seat.

All of a sudden, Nancy saw a car speeding past them, and caught a familiar figure driving it.

'Was that Anna?’ she wondered, narrowing her eyes while her neck elongated, looking after the car.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Charles asked, noticing the bothered look on her face.

"Nothing, nothing." She only shook her head, afraid that she might have seen it wrong.

But then, her phone suddenly rang, breaking the deafening silence that fell on them.

Nancy took out her phone half-heartedly and saw it was a call from Erin.

"Director Nancy, there's an emergency! The patient with leg infection wants to jump off the building today! He's attempting to commit suicide!"

Something reverberated in Nancy's head. It wasn't the kind of buzz from alcohol, but more of a dire sign for a crisis.

"Have you called the police?" she Nancy anxiously, biting her nails subconsciously.

"I did, but they won't come until a while later." Erin was about to cry, and Nancy could only imagine the hospital's tension right now.

"Tell the police not to come in for the time being. Their presence might trigger the patient more. I'm on my way there!"

"What's wrong?" Charles glanced at her while both his hands were on the stirring wheel.

"Hurry to the hospital! My patient is in danger!" Nancy commanded him with an evident sense of urgency, tapping the dashboard in panic.

And although her heart was beating frantically, something bugged her mind.

That particular patient had always been in some sort of trouble. Ever since he was admitted to the hospital, a lot of emergencies had played around him.

In fact, he could have been discharged yesterday, but he chose to stay despite his hospital bills. And today, he made such a fuss again!

What on earth was he up to?

Those thoughts filled her mind while Charles drove like a mad man.

Soon after, his car screeched and halted by the entrance. Then, as soon as they got out, the two witnessed a lot of people gathering on the grounds downstairs.

After surveying the entire place, Nancy saw the man standing on the top floor. His disheveled hair and dirty face shone against the hospital lights. "I don't want to live anymore! I can't bear the pain of my legs!" he shouted at the top of his lungs.

Then, after seeing the flock of spectators gathered downstairs, he warned, "Don't come over! If anyone of you dares to get close, I'll jump down from here!" Although the man sounded and looked extremely crazy, Nancy could see that he was very nervous.

The doctors and nurses stood still, completely lost, and did not know what to do.

"What should we do, Charles?"

"Do you have an anesthetic gun?" he asked, still looking at the patient on the rooftop.

"I suppose so." In a hurry, Nancy asked someone to bring the anesthetic gun and handed it over to Charles.

Then, he hurried to the rooftop with Nancy behind him.

And as she got closer, her heart beat even more frantically.

"Are you sure this will work?" Nancy asked with uncertainty. Her eyes glinted a mixture of anxiety and doubt.

"Of course, but I have to aim at the patient at a close distance; otherwise..." Even Charles was not totally confident in his plan. But since this was the only way he could think, he had no choice but to carry it out.

Meanwhile, Nancy fell completely silent. Although she was somehow worried, a piece of her trusted Charles more than anyone.

"We have to try it anyway," Charles uttered coldly before taking a deep breath.

"Alright. I guess you're right." Nancy nodded reluctantly.

Then, she shifted her gaze to her patient. The man, whose name was Boyd He, looked extremely exhausted, as evidenced by the redness in his eyes.

"Hi, Boyd"
