Currently, Charles was driving Nancy home.
Tonight, Charles was a little frustrated and angry. To put it bluntly, he was still mad that Nancy went to the bar without his permission.
How ridiculous was this? Charles Fu's woman went to the bar looking for men and without his consent at that.
How dare you, Nancy?
After parking the car, Charles impatiently unlocked Nancy's seat belt.
Charles was even more irritated when he saw Nancy sleeping soundly with her head tilted.
Charles thought, 'How could this woman sleep with such a peaceful expression after pissing me off?'
"Nancy!" Charles shouted, unable to control his irritation and anger.
"Hey, don't shout. Let me sleep for a while." Nancy moved a little to settle in a more comfortable position and went back to sleep.
Helpless, Charles could only sigh. He never thought that he would be the one giving in to his partner in the relationship.
Was this fate?
Charles smiled with self-mockery and then reached out to carry Nancy.
Nancy didn't enjoy sleeping in the car seat, as it was quite uncomfortable. But when Charles suddenly held Nancy in his arms, she found that sleeping in them was pleasant. So she placed her arms around his neck, found the most comfortable posture, and leaned against his chest.
Nancy's breath was as soft as a bird's feather, and it enticingly teased Charles' skin.
Charles sighed in an almost inaudible way. At this moment, he had no idea what to do with Nancy.
Charles kissed Nancy's hair and walked into the villa with her in his arms.
For a moment, he hoped that time would stop. They could live together in each other's company. No one in the world would scrutinize their relationship, and they would no longer have to face the problems the world threw at them.
Reeking with the smell of alcohol, Nancy nestled in Charles' arms as her frown tightened.
Charles discovered that Nancy's body was twitching. He looked down and found that her rosy face had turned pale, and her forehead was covered with a thin layer of sweat.
Charles was stunned. Was Nancy sick? He hurriedly reached out his hand to feel her forehead. She didn't have a fever; she just seemed a little cold.
"Nancy, what's wrong with you?" Charles stirred Nancy.
"Ouch! My belly hurts," said Nancy in her sleep.
"Nancy, how much wine did you drink?" Charles asked as his expressions tensed.
"Ouch! It hurts!" Nancy wanted to wake up, but she was too dizzy to do so.
Nancy felt a sharp pain in her belly. In a daze, she thought that she was going through the painful experience of childbirth again.
"Nancy, what’s wrong with you?" Charles was a little flustered. Nancy's clothes were wet with cold sweat, and her body was freezing.
Charles had never seen Nancy in such a desperate situation. Looking at her frail face, he was overwrought.
"Nancy, you might have alcohol poisoning. Hold on. I'll take you to the hospital now." Charles ran back with Nancy in his arms.
Nancy's stomach pain increased with time, and she could only rub it to soothe the agony.
Nancy was puzzled at her state.
Why was she feeling so uncomfortable?
Charles drove Nancy straight to the hospital.
But Charles' heart was burning with anxiety as Nancy's pale face filled his mind.
The municipal hospital was a long distance from their current location. Fortunately, there was another hospital close by.
Charles guessed that the small hospital could treat alcohol poisoning. So he stopped the car and ran into the emergency room with Nancy in his arms.
"Doctor, come here. My wife is suffering from alcohol poisoning!" Charles shouted while running.
Soon a doctor came over.
"How much did she drink?" the doctor asked.
Shaking his head, Charles answered, "I don't know. She must have drunk a lot. I've never seen her like this."
Then the doctor reached out and touched Nancy's forehead.
Hey, how much did you drink?" the doctor asked again but to Nancy this time.
