Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love novel Chapter 690

Nancy arrogantly looked at Charles, who just got out of the car.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were here?" With a brooding expression on his face, Charles answered, "I haven't eaten yet. Why did you eat without me? Oh, so you have forgotten me, haven't you?"

Hearing their bickers, Bobby and Nadia exchanged meaningful looks.

'Every time Daddy comes back very late, he is either busy with social engagements or office work. But why is he always hungry? Doesn't he have many assistants and secretaries? How could those people let him not eat anything?'

Both the kids, who thought the same thing, were confused.

"Daddy, haven't you eaten yet?" Nadia asked in her sweet and innocent voice.

"Not yet, honey," Charles replied sulkily.

"Do you want to eat in a restaurant or at home? We just finished eating. The foods are delicious!" Tilting her head, the little girl flashed his father a sweet smile.

At the same time, Charles gazed at Nancy and asked coldly, "Have you had dinner too?"

"If I didn’t eat, would that mean I was waiting for you?" retorted Nancy sourly, crossing her arms against her chest.

"What's wrong with you? We are a family. Isn't it right for you to wait for me?" At this point, Charles couldn't hide the pang of pain in his tone. After all, he felt wronged. Nancy obviously left him out on their supposed family dinner.

"You really haven't eaten yet?" Nancy asked in disbelief, eyeing him with evident suspicion.

"Do you think I would lie for such a trivial thing as this?" Charles asked, still feeling annoyed.

"You said it yourself—it’s just a trivial matter. So, we don't have to stay here to argue about who’s right or wrong. What do you want to do now?" What Nancy feared most was quarreling in public, especially on the streets where she could attract the attention of people who passed by. It was just too embarrassing.

"I want you to cook my favorite roast steak and clay pot chicken rice," Charles said stubbornly, even pouting like a capricious child.

"Why do you want me to cook for you? Can't you do it yourself? It's been a long day at work. I'm tired." Nancy eyed Charles in disbelief. She knew he was stubborn, but he was getting on her nerves right now.

"There is no reason. I just want to eat the food you cook for me. That's all." Charles shrugged his shoulders while his voice rang overbearingly.

"Well, Mommy, you should cook for Daddy. He is also exhausted from work." Bobby interrupted his parents. The little boy could not stand watching them bicker.

On the other hand, Nancy was not bothered by Charles’ request. It was not a big deal for her at all. What bugged her was why he still hadn't had his dinner yet when it was already 9 o'clock in the evening.

Wasn't he on a date with Brandy? They could have gone to a bar, restaurant, or even a hotel, right?

If it weren't for these places, where else could they have gone?

Nancy turned to her son and uttered sarcastically, "It's not that I don't want to cook for your Daddy. I'm just afraid that he will eat too much and hurt his stomach." "I'll repeat it. I haven't eaten anything, and I’m hungry. So, you should cook for me." Although Charles was still proving his point, his voice was a little mellow now.

Ever since he didn't let Nancy get involved in the club, this woman became more and more indifferent to him.

No matter how hard he tried, he still couldn’t figure out what was in her head.

Because he was already in the sanatorium, he figured to spare some time and visit Jade too.

The woman was in good spirits and seemed to be comfortable living there.

So, the moment he entered her room, Charles greeted her with so much enthusiasm.

"Oh, Lee, I haven't seen you after you cut my hair last time. Well, now that you're here, you should trim my hair again. It has grown a lot." Jade called out someone else 's name while looking at Charles.

"Auntie, I’m not Lee. I'm Charles," he uttered as he walked closer to her bed.

Jade smiled awkwardly. "Oh, it's Charles. I'm sorry, I didn't recognize you."

"It’s okay, Auntie. Is there something wrong with your eyes?" Charles asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"There’s no problem. Why didn't Nancy come with you?" Jade craned her neck behind Charles, hoping to see her daughter, but Nancy was just nowhere to be found.

The apparent expectation in her eyes didn't escape Charles' sight.

But even so, her eyes still looked blank, and she couldn't focus her sight on one spot. Immediately, Charles knew that something was wrong.

"She's a little busy today. I will come to see you with her and the kids some other day." He flashed her a smile, hoping that the old woman would somehow cheer up.

"It’s alright. I know she is very busy and the children have to go to school. Don't worry. I'm fine here. You go back and tell her that everything is good for me here. Don't let her worry about me." Jade waved her hand, obviously dismissing the topic as if it was not significant.
