The Omega Mated To The Four novel Chapter 46

The Omega: Mated To The Four

Chapter Forty Six

The morning sunlight streamed through the cabin’s windows, casting a warm glow on the wooden floors, I stretched, my body still aching from the emotional toll of the past few week. As I sat up in bed, my eyes drifted to the pile of clothes I had taken from Mariah’s closet the night before.

Carefully, I reached out and picked up one of Mariah’s scarves, the soft fabric still faintly carrying her scent. I pressed it to my face, letting it ground me. I wasn’t sure what the journey ahead would bring, but I knew I couldn’t delay any longer.

Rising from the bed, I grabbed a small bag and stuffed it with a few of Mariah’s belongings: the scarf, a locket Mariah had kept by her bedside, and a journal I had found while searching her room. These items, small as they were, felt like pieces of Mariah’s strength and guidance.

Dressing quickly, I slung the bag over my shoulder and walked out of the bedroom.

In the main living area of the cabin, my mates sat around the table, deep in conversation. Elijah’s brows were furrowed, his hands gesturing animatedly as he spoke. Alex leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, while Austin and Isaiah both nodded thoughtfully.

When I stepped into the room, bag in hand, the conversation stopped abruptly. Four pairs of eyes turned to me, their expressions a mix of curiosity and concern.

Good morning,Austin said cautiously, breaking the silence.

I didn’t respond immediately. Instead, I walked to the center of the room, letting my bag drop onto the table with a soft thud. I crossed my arms, looking at each of them in turn,

Well?I asked, my tone light but challenging. Are you all going to sit here discussing whatever it is you’re discussing, or are we going to find this keystone?

The four of them blinked in surprise.

Alex was the first to recover, a smirk curling his lips. I like the sound of that,he said, his voice filled with admiration.

I rolled my eyes but couldn’t suppress the smile tugging at the corners of my mouth.

You’re serious?Elijah asked, his tone cautious but hopeful.

Dead serious,I replied, my voice steady. Eira said it’s up to us, right? The keystone isn’t going to find itself.

Isaiah leaned forward, his silver eyes studying me intently. Are you sure?he asked softly.

I met his gaze without hesitation. Yes,I said. I don’t know we will be able to find it but What I do know is that waiting around here won’t change anything. Mariah believed in me. That’s enough.

The room was silent for a moment as my words sank in. Then, one by one, the four of them nodded.

All right,Elijah said, standing. Let’s get moving.

I took a deep breath, the cool air brushing against my skin as I stepped outside the cabin. My bag was slung over my shoulder, the weight of my decision settling in but feeling oddly liberating. My mates followed close behind, their usual playful banter subdued, replaced by a quiet determination.

Elijah’s black Jeep waited at the edge of the clearing, its paint gleaming faintly in the sunlight. As we approached, I glanced back at the cabin one last time, my thoughts drifting to Mariah. I felt a pang of grief but also a flicker of newfound purpose. This wasn’t just for herit was for everyone who had sacrificed so much.
