Five minutes passed, and Anita skillfully dodged Aspen’s punches with great expertise. Despite her small size, she took advantage of her petite frame to make it difficult for Aspen’s punches to reach her.

Being taller, he had to bend more to reach her, but before he could, she would either duck or somersault, making it difficult for his punches or kicks to hit her.

The trainee warriors gasped as they gawked at her moves. Her skills were new and refreshing. Another kick was coming her way, but she blocked it with her elbow, leaving Aspen frustrated.

If given more attention, these new trainees could be rated among the best in the pack. A sigh escaped Alpha Nick as he nodded with approval. “Go back to your seats,” he said, referring to the floor of the tiled gym where they sat since there were no chairs in the gym.

Aspen was still finding it difficult to understand. Over five months ago, Anita was like a worm. It was as if she never had bones in her body but had given him a tough time in defeating her just now. “Alpha Nick, who trained them, please?” He asked with interest.

It was obvious that Anita’s trainer was the same person who trained the rest of the team. Alpha Nick’s lips were heavy as Anita responded, “Luna Sheila.”

They weren’t surprised as Luna Sheila had trained with them from the beginning before Beta Dustin solely took over for reasons only known to him.

Now, they began to feel that Luna Sheila was scarce at training because she devoted her time to the weak trainees. The outcome was just amazing.

“Then where is she?” Clayton, another warrior asked. Alpha Nick felt a lump in his throat. With all gazes pinned expectantly on him, he replied,

“She’s traveling for a while. We won’t be seeing her for months.” He hoped that within that time, he could train Charlotte to fit into Sheila’s shoes. She was his mate and soon to be Luna. As such, this should be her

responsibility.

Faces fell. “She didn’t even say goodbye,” Anita said sadly.

Alpha Nick’s lips pursed, not liking the dull spirit in his warriors due to the information. “Tell you what, she’s still preparing and will be here to say her final goodbye.”

The excitement he saw on their faces caused a strange yearning in his heart. Why didn’t anyone tell him that Sheila was doing far more than was expected of her? Yet, he denied her the only thing she ever asked throughout their six months of marriage. To go to the gala awards with her.

“Nick!” A melodious voice rang from the entrance as she ran into his embrace. Everyone was shocked. When they

realized it was his mate, they zipped their lips in understanding.

Alpha Nick pulled away from the unexpected hug uncomfortably. Charlotte needed to grow up. Ever since her return, childishness was all she ever gave Alpha Nick.

“Charlotte, we have training. The divorce is not finalized, so you can’t do this,” he spoke in a whisper.

Charlotte was crestfallen as things were moving too slow for her. However, recalling the hint Sheila dropped last night, she planned to be of her best behavior to not make Alpha Nick suspicious of anything.

The moment they mark each other, followed by her coronation, she will be in charge after sorting out the who helped her to return in a timely manner.

“I’m sorry. I just miss you so much,” she spoke in a teary tone. Alpha Nick was remorseful for chastising her.

“I know. Now go change and join training,” he said softly, but Charlotte frowned imperceptibly. Alpha Nick wasn’t giving her attention like before, and it wasn’t going down well with her.

“Haven’t you noticed that I already changed up for training?”

Alpha Nick frowned when he took in the hot pants she wore for training. A frustrated sigh escaped him as he complained, “That is too short, or should I say, revealing?”
