Earlier, Charlotte had run out of her room because of the mouse, not knowing where she was headed but was unfortunate to end up in the training room.

Seeing how haggard she looked after being beaten by Anita the last time, the she–wolves, especially, were happy.

The unmated ones wished their Alpha would just handpick them rather than relying on the mate bond. Not only was Charlotte proud and disrespectful towards pack members but she was also weak, If there was a war, no one would have the confidence to be led by her.

They would rather surrender to the enemy. No wonder Alpha Nick had not announced nor accepted her as his

would

mate.

“Who do we have here? Charlotte? Why haven’t you trained for the past few days?” One of the she–wolves, Kari asked. She was strong and daring, so Charlotte was no match for her.

Charlotte realized too late that she was in the training room without Alpha Nick, nor beta Dustin but then, she

was the Alpha’s mate, so how could anyone bully her?

“Stay away,” she said in a low growl, but Kari was just warming up. Charlotte had not had her bath for the past few days, she went into a state of unconsciousness and was beginning to smell from it.

“What is that stench? Am I the only one smelling it?” Kari mocked Charlotte as she drew closer, the others gave. thumbs up, encouraging her to continue. Everyone was happy to see Charlotte in this state.

Everyone except Anita. Though Anita did not like what Kari was doing, she was helpless in the situation as she lacked the power to help. Charlotte has been mean to her any way, and deserved it but she still could not console herself with that fact. The only person who could stop them was Beta Dustin or Bree. Whereas Bree was also away.

“No. Seems like the special stench accompanying the omegas,” one of the male warriors responded, and the training room roared with laughter.

“Has she been degraded?” Kari asked in a mocking tone, looking down on Charlotte, who was hugging herself like a frightened child.

“Stay away or I would have you punished,” Charlotte managed to say, recalling that she was the Alpha’s mate. All she had to do was take her training seriously and she would have Alpha Nick wrapped around her fingers again, or so she thought.

Kari didn’t seem to be having it, having envied Charlotte for a while for being the Alpha’s mate. The Alpha’s attitude towards Charlotte the last time left a lot to be desired.

“How can you punish me when the Alpha has not officially introduced you to the pack? Does it mean you are nothing to him? He allowed Anita to beat you badly.”

Without thinking, Charlotte balled her hand and punched Kari in the face. “How dare you talk to me like that?”

The lights were captivating, giving the venue an elegant appeal. Everyone was busy with something, except Alpha Nick, who could not help thinking about the mysterious woman he slept with.
