Chapter 82 

Alpha Nick never wanted any woman the way he wanted her, both in body and soul. “I want to make love to you.” 

Sheridan had a headache, fearing becoming his mistress since she did not want to go back to him, but she had a plan. “What happened was a mistake, and it shouldn’t happen again.” 

“But you 

are the only person I’ve done it with. I won’t be able to do it with anyone else. Even if you don’t want me, you are the only one I would ever want. I would wait until you make up your mind,” Alpha Nick said seriously.

She was a woman deserving of all his time and efforts, but Sheridan was thinking otherwise. “You will be wasting your time.”

Alpha Nick saw how hard it was for her to hold his gaze when she spoke, meaning she still felt something for him. “If you really don’t feel anything for me, then grant me my wish, and I will never bother you again,” he stated, watching her keenly.

“Is it a goodbye sex?” Sheridan asked, thinking about a way out of the situation since she did not want to get intimate with him again. That would only cause an unwanted entanglement.

Alpha Nick, on the other hand, was determined, saying, “I don’t care what you call it, but we are both very free. We aren’t attached to anyone and you are the one refusing to marry me for real this time.”

“You…” She wanted to remind him that there was still a bond between him and

Charlotte when he cut in.

“There’s nothing between me and Charlotte,” his lips swallowed hers instantly, not giving her the chance to resist him. His hands pressed the back of her head to prevent her from breaking from the kiss.

It was so warm and fierce, Sheridan melted in his arms, moaning into his mouth. Since they were in the open, Alpha Nick broke from the kiss.

Rising to his feet, he bent over and lifted her into his arms. Sheridan pressed something on her wristwatch, before wrapping her arms securely around this neck. It was a moment of bliss which she knew was not meant to last. As soon as they reached the bedroom, he dropped her gently on the bed.

Just as he took off her shoes, his phone began to ring. He wasn’t expecting anyone to

call him at this time and tried to ignore it.

“Answer it. Don’t forget you are an Alpha. We still have the whole night to ourselves.

Her words, ‘we still have the whole night to ourselves, warmed his heart. A smile bloomed on his lips, knowing that she accepted his condition, so he picked up the phone, and his fingers slid on the screen before lifting it to his cars.

“Dustin, what’s the problem?” He asked with a frown.

Dustin knew he was chasing back Sheila, so why would he call at a time like this to mess things up for him? Then it dawned on him from the noise he heard in the background before Beta Dustin’s voice came through.

“Alpha, there’s an attack on the pack. Rogues”

“Shit!” Alpha Nick hissed as he glanced at Sheridan. He was certain that if she gave herself to him willingly, it would have been easy to convince her to come with him and now this.

What a wrong timing? Those rogues have not seen the better side of him yet. “Do what you have to do. I’m on my way,” his solemn voice sounded at his side of the line as he ended the call and turned to Sheridan. “I’m sorry. Our pack is under attack.”

The worried and helpless look in his eyes made Sheridan slightly guilty. “We can make it another time but I’m sorry I can’t come with you.” She lifted herself to a sitting position, adding, “however, you know where to find me.”

Being a skillful warrior, Alpha Nick was slightly disappointed that she did not opt to come with him. However, he also could not shed his responsibility of leaving her at the resort, though he already paid for everything due to the way she had paid for the private room he booked for their lunch some time ago.

It was not easy dealing with a woman who had everything but Alpha Nick was not intimidated. “No. I’m taking you home first.”

Sheridan was touched that even as his pack was under attack, he still put her first. She contemplated if she should stop her plans and just go back to him or tell him about the baby. 

It was so hard dealing with Alpha Nick when he was like this. This man has changed a great deal but she was still scared for her poor heart.

“This place is safe and it’s late. I will sleep and have someone pick me up,” she finally said. Alpha Nick was saddened. Still, he had just begun his chase for barely a month

now, whereas Sheridan had loved him for years, enduring the pain of not being loved by him.

“I will make it up to you” When he reached the door, Sheridan felt an emptiness in her heart, her eyes teared up as she screamed his name.

“Nick” 

Alpha Nick felt something odd and would have stayed to seek some answers but his pack was under attack and he could not leave everything to Dustin. She finally pulled away and quickly wiped her tears.
