The Art Of Revenge (Thalia Nash and Brandon) novel Chapter 87

Jessica’s Pov

I felt like my chest was collapsing in on me, that everything was crumbling around me. I knew there was nothing I could do. I kept calling Victor, but the calls went unanswered. I last saw him when he was being escorted out from headquarters by cops. I sat in my car, unsure of where to go or what to do.

There was no way I could follow Josh to the police station. When he was being loaded into a police car, I observed that he didn’t want to look at my face. He despised me and despised the sight of me. I needed to give him some time to settle down, but I needed to speak with Victor first.

I decided to drive to the main house, which was the first place that I was supposed to look. Victor had to be there, I was sure he knew his son had not split the shares. I had nothing and the baby had nothing.

He promised me he was going to get me something. He promised Josh was only ever going to find out after the shares were given to me and my baby. But that was not to be, I kept wiping my tears as I drove off. How did he even find out about Canada? My only guess was Brandon Frazer, the ghost, he must have found out, but how?

I drove into the driveway, my eyes wet and swollen. I got my makeup bag and tried to hide the bruise near my mouth. In a space of a month, I had a gun stuffed into my mouth twice like a hardcore criminal.

I was reduced to nothing, not even at the level of a prostitute. I got out of the car and walked into the house. As predicted Victor was home, he was busy on the phone yelling at whoever was on the end of the line.

I matched into the house p*ssed and to my annoyance, he turned his back to me like I was invincible or something. After yelling on the phone for what seemed like forever, he turned. His face was badly swollen, one of his eyes looked like it was completely swollen and he could not see through it.

“Why the f*ck did you tell him about us!” he directed his anger on me.

“Why were you not answering my calls!” I asked but he only looked away. “Your s*upid son put a gun into my mouth! What was I supposed to do!”

“He is a coward, he was not going to shoot you!” He replied. I almost burst out laughing. I saw the look in Josh’s eyes. He was dead serious, he was going to kill me. It was the first time that I saw that look in his eyes and it scared the life out of me. He was calling his son a coward but he was disfigured by the same son. Ignored him and asked;

“How did he find out about Canada? Who told him?”

“You are the ones who decided to move out of this house, this house was your protection, it was always wiped out every day for your own good but you decided to move out!”

I could not believe the fool, maybe the beatings he had gotten shifted his brain or something. Did he honestly think we moved into a new house to discuss Canada? I walked to a chair and sat down. “I think Brandon Fraser found out, he went digging in Canada, and told him,” I suggested.

Victor only held his mouth. “Before he went crazy, he had the shared file and was ready to give me and the baby some shares. I only stepped out to buy some groceries,” I replied. A decision that I began regretting, maybe if I had stayed, I could have known what went wrong and how he found out. I rubbed my hands on my face, there was a lot of self-blame going on in my head.

“Did you say he was changing shares?” Victor asked. “Please tell me he did not have a company seal with him? Why didn’t you tell me!” he held me by the shoulders and shook me like a mad person. “I do not know, I only saw him with papers but when he left for Gentex he had his briefcase,” I replied.

“Why didn’t you tell me? Am from instructing the police to release him without charges!”

“Well if you had picked up my calls maybe you would have found out,” I yelled at him.
