The house was dark and quiet so she automatically assumed Liam had gone to bed.
" Thank goodness " She really didn't have any strength to deal with him right now. As quietly as she could manage, she went tiptoed into Dom's nursery and her face broke into a tender smile when she saw her son sleeping soundly. She closed the door quietly and proceeded upstairs to their bedroom. She opened the door quietly and closed it behind her. She breathed a sigh of relief but it was short lived because when she turned, Liam was sitting on the bed, his head popped up against his chin as he stared at her.
" Hey " She said softly and started walking towards the bathroom, all the while aware of his piercing gaze on her.
" What's the meaning of all these, Carla? " His question made her stop in her tracks and she closed her eyes briefly, getting ready mentally for what was to come.
She turned and feigned oblivious to what he meant " What do you mean? "
He raised his eyebrows, not liking the fact that she wanted him to repeat his question " You heard me right Carla, why? What's the meaning of all these? "
She sighed " I just went to a party Liam, is that so wrong? "
" Yes it is, considering how you're nursing a baby, it's so wrong of you to do that " Liam said quietly and Carla flared.
" Who the hell are you to tell me what to do?! " She shouted. It was meant to be a rhetorical question because she needed no answer but Liam replied anyway.
" How about your husband? " He asked.
" Fake, " She corrected him with a piercing glare " It all fake Liam, you know it yourself that this marriage is fake and will be over soon enough "
" Keep your voice down " Liam cautioned calmly but Carla went on like he hadn't said anything.
" Speaking of which, " She continued " When exactly would we go our separate ways?? "
He eyed her " I thought we had an agreement "
Her nostrils flared " To hell with the agreement, when am I leaving?? I can't have you controlling my life all the time, I'm done! " With that said, she stomped off into the bathroom and took long in there.
When she came out, Liam was still in the same position she left him, sitting at the foot of the bed. She ignored him and went to her side of the bed and laid down. Of course, she wasn't facing his side, what had he expected when he glanced at her?
" You wanna leave because you're tired of me controlling your life? " He asked quietly but received no reply from her.
" If that's what you want, it's fine, just wait a few more months and you'll be free to go live your life the way you wanted before I trapped you into this marriage " He said and slept on his side of the bed too, the space that was between them could accommodate three people.
