The Bad Boy Next Room (Charlie and Taylor) novel Chapter 28

Charlie never knew if she’d ever get her thong back. Who would have thought that Taylor would willingly return it at school?

While Charlie was at class two days later, Taylor texted her. He said: [Are you still mad at me about the scrunchie? I did not see you the other day. Did you at least eat?]

Charlie: [I’m not talking to you until you return my thong.]

Taylor: [Okay. We have a game with The Bio Dunkers tonight. You should come. My guys are asking about you. Come to think of it, you should play your part as my girlfriend. You don’t even attend my practices.]

Taylor: [I’ll give you your thong if you watch the game. Got it?]

Charlie made a face while in class. She grumbled as she texted back, “Fine.”

That evening, Charlie arrived late to the game. She had fallen asleep at the condo and didn’t wake up until half past six. The game had started at six!

She arrived just in time to witness Taylor throwing a three-point shot.

The crowd was uproar, especially those in the College of Engineering. Everyone was jumping for joy and getting restless, making Charlie struggle to find a seat. When she finally found one, she sat down and waited. She did not realize familiar figures were behind her, observing her behavior.

“Charlie? Are you late for your Taylor’s game?” The voice came from behind said. “You don’t even look interested.”

When Charlie turned around, she saw it was Luke. He was with Tom and Archie and their girlfriends, Sofia and Ashley. Surprisingly, Regina was not there.

Narrowing her eyes, Charlie asked, “What are you doing here?”

“Checking Taylor’s moves,” Luke said. He scoffed, saying, “Maybe what others say about you and Taylor is true - that your relationship isn’t serious at all.”

“When you were with me, you sometimes attended practice, and you were never late,” Luke said confidently. Then, he moved down to the seat next to Charlie. “I have been observing you, Charlie.”

“Sure, Taylor sometimes fetches you up from classes, but you don’t look at him the way you used to look at me, and the sex part?” Luke leaned in and whispered in her ear, “I’ve put two and two together, Charlie. You’d never give in to sex that easily, so I doubt you and Taylor are that intimate.”
