The Biker’s Mafia Princess (Angel and Savage) novel Chapter 2

Rebel POV.

Is it wrong of me to be jealous of other people’s relationships with their siblings and family? Why couldn’t I have that? I sigh as I sit down and do my best to not let it get to me. But I am failing miserably at it.

“Would you like something to eat, drink?” Dominic asks, and I smile at him and nod my head.

“Yeah, sure, I could eat and could murder a drink.” I say and he smirks at me as one of the maids steps forward and he tells her to bring the lunch. She bows her head and goes to do as she is told.

It’s nice out here. The sun is high, there is a gentle breeze that is ruffling the leaves on the trees and the scent of the different flowers dances in the air. I feel at peace even if it is just sitting in his back garden.

“You look relaxed, Rebel. This must be a luxury for you because of your schedule.” Dominic asks, and I smile before I chuckle.

“Is it that obvious? Yes, this is nice. Thank you for inviting us here. Shall we get down to business?” I have never been one to stand on ceremony. If I’m here for business, then it will be business going forward.

“Straight to it. Usually I like that. But Rebel, when do you ever take time to just simply relax?” He asks as he leans back in his chair and takes a deep breath and I look at him, then at both Dante and Dylan. They seem relaxed, but it’s me that is wound tight.

“I don’t, not in the past five nearly six years. I’m all about the contract. It keeps me busy. I have been all over the world and not seen any of it.” I say and it is sad. The life of an assassin takes you to many places, but you don’t get to enjoy it. You do the job and leave. Never linger.

This is the longest I have been in one place for a job. Usually, we are in and out fast, undetected.

“Relax Rebel, take this as a day off.” Dominic says and I just look at him and he is watching me. I take a breath in and lean back in the chair. Letting my shoulders drop and tilt my head back. I roll my neck, feeling and hearing a loud crunch. I even sigh at that. I hear chuckles and pop open one eye and see the three of them smiling at me.

“I could get used to this, but unfortunately I’m here on business.” I say as I lift my head completely just as the maids return with trays of delicious looking finger sandwiches, cakes, and snacks. A silver pot of tea and a jug of juice with ice and it’s garnished with mint. Nice.

“Dominic, as you know, Vittoria is alive. You asked us to keep your grandson Roman Ricci alive. I’m afraid that might not happen now.” I say to Dominic and he just watches me wanting me to continue, so I do.

“He tried to get Luna out of wherever Vittoria sent her. He tried to kill one of the auction survivors, but she defended herself and stabbed him. According to Alessa, he is alive and stable. Vittoria is rightly pissed and has now bought in the Daughters Of Chaos to her estate and they are now in charge of watching Luna. I’m sorry Dominic, I promise you I will work with Vittoria to try to sort this out. My primary concern is getting Luna home. As for Roman, I think it would be in everyone’s best interest that you deal with him as a family.” I say and Dominic looks at me and nods his head in agreeance.

“I agree, Dante, what do you think?” he turns his head to speak to his grandson. Dylan is helping himself to the food and I pour myself a fruity drink and pick up a cheese sandwich and eat it as they both discuss their play.

“I don’t want his blood on my hands, nonno, I’m sure you don’t either. Vittoria is his mom. She should be the one to deal with him. But we can’t just sit back and let her do it alone. Roman is convinced he is in love with Luna, either that or she has something on him. Rebel went to see RJ last night, and he told her some seriously fucked up stuff that Luna has done.” Dante tells him and I just sit back and watch the exchange between them.

Dylan fills Dominic in on everything while I lean back in the chair and let the heat of the humid air wash over me. While they all talk about what has happened. I’ve checked out at this point. This is nothing new to me. I have lived it so I don’t need to hear it again.
