Harmony POV.
Looking at the bed and my options I’m starting to become more like the Grinch than anything. I pick up a dress, then look outside. Nope, too damn cold for that. So that is definitely going in the not on your life pile.
I may just opt for comfy-casual. So skinny black jeans, long sleeve black embellished jumper and my knee-high boots. I look at Mystique and she is laying on the floor watching me.
“What do you think?” I hold them up and she chuffs. I smile.
“Good choice.” I say as I rip the towel away and throw on my bra and panties, pulling my knee-high socks up my legs before I wiggle into my jeans, button them up and pull the jumper over my head. I walk to the vanity and grab my hairbrush and decide to leave my hair down.
Quick swipe of mascara and lip oil. Grab my boots and pull them on and zip them up. I stand and look in the mirror. Something is missing. I grab my belt and throw it on. Ok I can do this.
I grab my grey beanie and throw that on my head and fix my hair around the front of my shoulders. I give Mystique a stroke and leave the room, walking down the stairs into the living room. I grab my phone and check the time.
Fifteen minutes to go. The butterflies begin fluttering in my stomach and I’m nervous as hell. What if he ghosts me? What if after tonight he decides we should remain friends? What if … Stop it Harmony. God, you are driving yourself insane.
I double check the back door to make sure it is locked and secured. Walking back into the living room and check the phone again, it has only been a minute, god this is torture.
I hear a truck pull up and I look towards the front door when I hear a knock. My hands sweat and I wipe my palms on my jeans as I open the door and there he is.
He is wearing his jeans, a blue long sleeve t-shirt rolled up to the elbows, and a black leather jacket, no cut.
“Wow, Harmony, you look gorgeous. Oh, these are for you.” He hands me a bouquet of red roses and pink stargazer lilies. I take them and thank him.
“Come in. Let me put these in a vase and grab my things.” I say and let him inside. He hasn’t been to my house. He enters and is looking around. Mystique walks down the stairs and chuffs at him and he gives her scratches under her chin.
I walk back out of the kitchen and just silently watch him with her and I smile. For such a huge man, he is gentle. I mean, I have seen him with Melody, and it makes my ovaries jump.
“Let me grab my coat and purse and we can leave.” I say and he looks up at me, smiling at me. I blush again. Get it together!
I grab my coat and purse, putting my phone inside and whistle for Mystique and she stands and saunters towards her bed by the fire.
“Good girl, I will be back soon.” I say to her and kiss her head. She yowls and I chuckle at her and I know she will be ok. This isn’t the first time I have left her.
I punch in the perimeter code to arm the outside of the house and garden. I had all kinds of CCTV put in so I could see how she is doing in the house and so far, so good. She sleeps most of the day like a domesticated house cat. Or sits by the window looking outside.
I shut the door, and the lock engages and I walk hand in hand with Mav to his cage.
He is a true gentleman. He opens the door for me and lifts me into the seat. I’m not short by any stretch but the cage is high.
“I can strap myself in.” I say to him and he kisses my nose and I’m momentarily stunned when I hear the click and he winks at me before he shuts the door and walks around the front of the cage.
